Board of Trustees
January 12, 2015
President Judy Trull called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Members present: Judy Trull, Jennifer Brickey, Alice Brown, Barb Baumgartner,
Pam Sturm, Debby Nolan. Dr. Melanie Oppor arrived at 5:14.
Motion by Sturm/Baumgartner to approve minutes of December 9, 2015 meeting
with the correction of Dr. Oppor’s name. Motion carried.
No visitors.
Motion by Brickey/Brown to approve bills as presented, regular operating
expenditures of $1904.23 and donation expenditures of $1490.79. Motion carried.
Director’s report: Walter Burkhalter administrator of the Outagamie Waupaca
Library System has resigned. Gerri Moeller is acting administrator.
Building Report: Had problems with the exhaust pipe again during the below zero
week. City crew came and fixed the problem. Ellen is going to talk to Joe Burkard to
see if he would have a solution to the problem.
The Handicap Parking Sign was ripped out and thrown on the pond. City crew
retrieved the sign. The sign will be reinstalled in the spring.
Finance & Personnel: Ellen is working on staff evaluation and will have done soon.
Policy: Committee will meet to continue work of policies.
Communications: None
Unfinished Business
People Counter: Ellen is still getting information.
Trustee Appointment by Mayor: Mayor John Smith appointed Dr. Melanie Oppor at
lasted council meeting.
New Business
Appointing Nominating Committee for Officers: Alice Brown and Dr. Melanie Oppor
will be on nominating committee.
Board and Director Goals for 2015: The 2015 goals were; staff meetings, more
services for elderly, and work on marketing the Library. The 2015 goals will be
discussed at the next meeting.
Board goals: come to February meeting prepared to work on goals and update longrange plan.
Computer/Technology Purchases: Motion by Oppor/Brickey to purchase
computers package that Ellen presented. Motion carried.
Possible Author Programs: Ellen is working on programs, Wisconsin Supper Clubs,
Jerry Apps and other programs are in the works.
Trustee Education: Alice Brown discussed Robert Rules of Order. There must be a
quorum for meeting. A person cannot debate an issue for more than 10 minutes.
Next meeting date is February 10, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
Motion by Brown/Oppor to adjourn. Motion carried.
