Board: Chiropractic Physicians' Board of Nevada
Approved by: Julie Strandberg, Executive Director
Comment: Because the bill creates a process of judicial review of determinations made by the
Board upon matters brought before the Board by persons particularly interested in
challenging laws given to the Board by the Legislature, and such judicial processes are new,
unprecedented, and (per the terms of the bill) unavoidable, the Board can anticipate that it
may need to defend the laws assigned to the Board by the Legislature against such litigation.
Since the Board is funded solely on its licensing fees, the costs of all such litigation would
directly impact the Board's finances. At this time, the amount of the fiscal impact is
unknowable and unascertainable.

Board: Funeral and Cemetery Services Board

Comment: I believe that this bill would have significant fiscal impact by increasing legal fees
each time someone requested a repeal or revision of an "entry regulation". An exact amount
cannot be determined.

Approved by: Kim Frakes, Director of Social Work Practi
Comment: As submitted, it is est. that during the 19/19 fiscal year, the Board will spend
approx. $10,000 in order to comply with sec. 14 of the bill as follows: $650 for Sr. DAG +
$1,000 for consultant + $8,800 for staff = $10,000. This would include a review of the Board's
entire regulations, possible re-drafting and/or elmination of regulations, accompanying public
workshops and public hearings, notification of constituents regarding regulation changes, fees
to LCB and submission of a report to the Director of the LCB.

Comment: The Nevada State Board of Athletic Trainers cannot determine the fiscal impact of

administrative fees, the amount would be difficult to quantify at this time.

Board: Nevada State Board of Oriental Medicine
Approved by: Merle Lok, Executive Director
Comment: The BDR will have a fiscal impact on the Board of Oriental Medicine. The part-time
Executive Director ("ED") will have to increase her hours by approximately 30 hours to work
on the regulations required by this BDR. The ED position is currently a part-time position
requiring approximately 10-20 hours per week with a monthly payment of $1700, making her
hourly rate approximately $26.15. By increasing the work hours by an additional 30 hours @
$26.15 per hour, the ED's salary would have to be increased by $784.50 per year. (The
hourly rate calculations are based upon 52 weeks per year and then divided by 12 months.)
Additionally, there may have to be third-party experts retained on this matter and if there is
litigation involved, the fees are estimated to be another $10,000 to $50,000.

Board: State Board of Cosmetology
Approved by: Gary K Landry, Executive Director
Comment: We have estimated the time required to process the application of one
cosmetologist, one aesthetician, and one nail technologist who tries to have their professional
license not required to be processed. We anticipate that all license types will be necessary
and required. If a license type is found to be not required then the amount of funding for the
agency will have to come from the state general fund.
