New School Messenger Notification
The former School Reach program has been
upgraded to School Messenger for the 20152016 school year. This system is used to notify parents of important events and news
regarding their school. Individual buildings
use it for things like notification of School
Picture Day or Parent Teacher Conferences. The District will use this system to
notify parents of corporation wide events like
weather delays or closings. When normal
announcement calls are made, School Messenger will call guardian phone and whatever
phone number was listed in the Alert 1 field
of their student demographics page in Harmony. When the district has to make Emergency calls, it will call all the numbers that
you have listed in your phone and alert
fields. If you need to update your phone
numbers, log into your students Harmony
portal and update the numbers as needed.

The Turkey Run FFA competed in the Soils Judging Career
Development Event on Friday,
Oct. 2. In this competition,
students examine four sites for
the soil structure and land capabilities. For example, they
examine if a particular area can
be used for a home, sewer system, field or other agriculture
use. The students are learning
about the foundation of everything we do
and the principles that all of our homes are
built on.
The team consisting of McMullen, Buell, Lien
and H. Jones placed 12th out of 27 teams.

7TH GRADE PARENTS
INTERACT NEWS
7th graders are not to use scientific calculators. Mrs.
Lugar needs to ensure that they have mastered the
skills that those calculators do for them. If you have
already purchased a scientific calculator, just save it
for 8th grade. This year, a simple dollar store
calculator will be perfect. (Try to find one that
includes a square root key.) We apologize for any
inconvenience, but students have been reminded of
this since the first day of school. Thank you for your
cooperation
Interact revs up for fall clean-up community
service: Members have helped clean-up after
the September 4 and 11 home football games and
will assist the Rockville Rotary Club with its highway
clean-up efforts on October 5, just prior to the
Covered Bridge Festival. They, too, will assist the
Rotary with drink sales at the Drink Tent on the
square throughout the festival.
