Swimmers who wish can do a 5km swim-thru after they have completed
the 3km event - advise Referee on the day – $5 extra fee applies.
INFORMATION SHEET
3km ' BRIDGE TO BRIDGE' '
The event is being held at Penrith Lakes and will Start from the designated Start Area on the opposite side to
the Finish Tower - and Finish at the Finish Tower.
Swimmers competing in the 3.8km Tri Iron Distance will Start 800m from the Finish Tower
All Competitors will swim the course as displayed on Board in front of Grandstand. Full Referee instructions
including directions of the Course will be given 15 minutes prior to the commencement of the event – this will
be in front of the Grandstand.
START: The event will Start at 9.00am sharp and late entries will close at 8.30am. You will not be
permitted to enter the water if you miss the Start.
VERY YOUNG OR INEXPERIENCED SWIMMERS ARE NOT ENCOURAGED TO COMPETE – Minimum
Age 10 years
RULES:

Entry forms must be fully completed and signed.

Competitors must keep within the defined course for the event as instructed.

Age as at the day of the Event. Minimum age for the 3km event is 10 years

Competitors must complete the course unassisted – Support Craft are permitted.

Competitors leaving the water before the Finish will be deemed as failing to complete the course.
COMPETITORS FAILING TO COMPLETE THE COURSE MUST REPORT TO THE RECORDING
ROOM SITUATED AT THE FINISH TOWER. THIS REQUIREMENT IS MANDATORY - PLEASE
DO NOT LEAVE THE AREA WITHOUT REPORTING TO THE RECORDERS.

Competitors must ensure that as they pass through the Finish Line 'TO CALL OUT THEIR
COMPETITOR NUMBER’ otherwise their place in the field or the time which they swam may be
incorrect - IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOUR NUMBER IS HEARD BY
THE TIMEKEEPERS AS YOU FINISH.

Competitors also to ensure that their Competitor Number is also recorded as they leave the water at
the Finish Pontoon - you have not completed the Event until your Number has been recorded.

Caps must be worn (caps supplied free when you report for Registration).

Power driven craft are prohibited from the course (except for Emergency Craft supplied by PSC).

If in trouble, raise your arm and wait for help from one of the support craft or swim towards the shore.

Swimmers who have a disability must report to the Referee or Meet Director before competing on
the day
TROPHIES:
Trophy is awarded to the Overall Winner of the Event.
Trophies are awarded to the first Male and Female competitors to finish the 3km Event.
1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Awards will be presented to Males and Females in the following categories:10yrs

Medals for the 3.8km Tri Iron Distance will be awarded in various age groups to be determined.
All Swimmers completing their Event will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
Special Awards are awarded to competitors competing for 5 and 10 consecutive years.
If for any reason the Events are cancelled an administration fee of $5.00 will apply to any or all refunds.
RESULTS: Provisional results will be posted on the wall outside the Recording Room as they are finalised.
Any queries on these results should then be directed to Recorders just inside the Recording Room.
PRESENTATION:
Will take place in front of the Spectator Grandstand 15 minutes after the last
competitor has finished.
Certificates will be forwarded in the mail.

DECLARATION:

I, the undersigned, in consideration of and as a condition of acceptance of my entry
in the event for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators hereby waive all and
any claim, right or cause of action which I or they might otherwise have for or
arising out of my loss of life, damage or loss of any description whatsoever which I
may suffer or sustain in the course of or consequent upon my entry or participation
in the said event AND I admit that I participate in the said event solely at my own
risk.

This waiver, release and discharge shall be and operate separately in favour of all
persons, corporations and bodies involved or otherwise engaged in promoting or
staging the event and the servants, agents, representatives and officers of them
and includes but is not limited to Penrith Swimming Club Inc. medical and
paramedical personnel, police officers and shall operate whether or not the loss,
injury or damage is attributable to the act or neglect of any one or more of them.

I hereby acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my personal possessions
and swimming equipment during the event.

I hereby attest and verify that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for this
event. If requested, I agree to provide with my entry form a signed doctor's
certificate attesting to my physical fitness to participate in the said event.

I hereby consent to receive medical treatment, which may be deemed advisable in
the event of injury, accident and/or illness during the event.

I hereby agree that in the event of cancellation due to storm, rain, inclement
weather, winds or other 'Acts of God' conditions my entry fee shall be refundable
except for an administration fee of $5.00. I also agree that in the event of
cancellation, the event organisers have the right to reschedule the event to another
day of their choosing.

In the event that I exceed the nominated time limit and have not completed the
course. I agree to leave the water when asked to by the officials or their
representatives conducting the event.
