Square Root London is a brand new Soda Works in
Hackney Downs. We launched in February 2014 & make
our own brand of sodas from fresh & seasonal ingredients
and deliver them out to our customers. We’re looking for
someone to help us in the day to day running of our
production space – from helping us to make our drinks, to
packaging them and getting them ready for deliveries,
there’s always plenty of work to get done in a day! We
need someone ASAP to start part time, 3 days a week. We
pay £7 p/h as a starting wage, with the opportunity to
increase after a 3 month trial period. We also provide lunch for our staff as well as the odd
mislabelled drink!
Job Description:








Preparation of fruit and other ingredients for our sodas.
Bottling of our soda, which involves filling and capping of bottles followed by pasteurisation
of the drinks. We make 1500 bottles at a time so this task forms the majority of the work for
the week (depending on how many flavours we’re bottling that week).
Maintaining high levels of cleanliness in our production space.
Labelling and packaging of our drinks.
Preparation of orders for our customers.
Preparation of keg sodas and equipment for our events.
There may be some opportunities to do some additional paid events work when available
(optional).
Some general office tasks may be required, such as printing invoices, answering the phone
and logging stock levels.
Requirements:







Excellent time keeping skills and reliability.
Excellent attention to detail – we can’t have any wonky sodas going out the door!
Excellent levels of personal hygiene and awareness of requirements for a food production
based job as lots of handling of ingredients and our product is required.
Efficient and motivated to complete long tasks.
Experience of physical jobs and heavy lifting is a plus.
No formal qualifications are required as training will be provided, but a Food Hygiene
certificate at Level 2 would be a bonus.
Some commercial kitchen/production/brewery experience would be a plus, but is not
necessary.
