Access our resources via: libsearch.arts.ac.uk One web address: Two functions To look for articles you need to change the default search from ‘Search catalogue’ to ‘Search Articles Plus’: Articles Plus allows you to search all of the academic articles we subscribe to and index. You can limit this to full text, or include items we only have citations for as well. Lots of helpful things in these green boxes including: Subject guides ‐ with links to useful resources in each area of study and important classmarks Links to all of the databases we subscribe to Videos to help you search online and print journals and eBooks Remember! There are useful limits at the left hand side of your search results Think about: Are you looking for a specific kind of information? Limit by Document type Are you looking for information from a specific time bracket? Limit by Dates Are you interested in information from particular databases? Limit by Databases Do you have information from lots of different subject areas but know for instance that you want information within one area such as fashion or education? Limit by Topics Too many results? Try to use some more specific words within the topic Not enough results? Try to broaden your query by thinking about the area your topic fits into When something is available to you in full text you will see a HTML (plain text) Or PDF symbol Just click through and you will be prompted for your UAL computer login Remember! Just because we don’t have something online doesn’t mean we don’t have it – we may have it in print – check the catalogue.
