my application being withdrawn, my admission being denied, or my admission being revoked.
I, also understand that I have read the admission procedure document and the submission of application does
not automatically qualify me for interview/further selection process. The Application Fee is non-refundable under

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES /INFORMATION
Following are related to the admission process;
(i)
Candidates are required to discuss their research interests and proposed research work at the time of
Interview.
(ii) Number of students to be admitted shall be at the discretion of the Bennett University, based on the
availability of the resources and academic profile of the candidates. However, tentative number of seats
has been indicated in the admission procedure document.
(iii) The students admitted to the PhD Program will be required to register themselves for the specific Program.
The registration will be renewed every term, on satisfactory progress.
Eligibility Criteria:
(A)
Academic Requirements (Minimum Qualifications) for Programs in Engineering and
Sciences.

60% Marks in M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc./M.Phil. or a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in
relevant subject
or
B. Tech. degree with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 on a 10-point scale or 70% marks in relevant
subject
Academic Requirements (Minimum Qualifications) for Programs in Management.
Management, being a multi-disciplinary field; graduates with 4 years of undergraduate education and 16
years (10+2+4 years) of total education with minimum 60% aggregate marks in graduation are eligible
to apply.

For graduates who had done three year undergraduate programs, Master’s degree along with
minimum 60% marks in both undergraduate and post graduate degrees is mandatory.
Valid score in National level accredited competitive exams like GATE/CAT/GMAT/GRE or
qualified in NET/ SLET/ UGC/ CSIR (JRF) or equivalent National level examinations or are in
receipt of fellowships like DST/ DBT/ DAE/ CSIR/ QIP/ ICMR/ DRDO/ INSPIRE etc.
Shortlisting and Selection
(A)
For Engineering and Applied Sciences
(a)
The shortlisting of applications for the purpose of admission test/interview will be done by the
admission committee.
(b)
The applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria and are shortlisted shall be put through
(i) Bennett Research Aptitude Test (BRAT) - a written test conducted by the University
(II) the process of Interview by a nominated committee of the School.

(B)
During the personal interview, the applicant will be assessed on his interest and motivation in
doing research, conceptual clarity on chosen area of research and his past academic and
research performances.
For Management Programs

The eligible applicants (as per criteria defined above) will be shortlisted based on their
performance in one of the competitive examination, namely GMAT, CAT, GATE,GRE,UGC/
CSIR NET examination etc.
The shortlisted applicants shall be put through BRAT (Bennett Research Aptitude Test)-a written
test, which shall be conducted by the University.
Applicants will be shortlisted based on their performance in BRAT for interview.
(d)
During the personal interview, the applicant will be assessed on his interest and motivation in
doing research, conceptual clarity on chosen area of research and his past academic and
research performances.
Written Test
The syllabus of examination for the written test shall be same as for UGC/CSIR/GATE/GRE examination,

Common for all applicants applying for Management Programs
(iii)
The test will typically be of one hour duration. The questions in the test may include both objective
as well as subjective.

PhD Assistantship:
Financial Support will be provided to all full time Ph.D. scholars in the form of PhD Assistantship, subject to
terms and conditions as per University rules.
