ARC’s End of Winter Celebration Dance
The End of Winter Celebration Dance will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014, 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
Snacks and beverages will be served, we encourage you to eat lunch before coming. Donations of
snacks, including healthy, “no salt” and “low sugar” are always appreciated.
Everyone attending the dance needs to RSVP by Thursday, April 17 so we can make sure
there will be enough snacks and seats for all. The Bus will be leaving ARC at 12:45 PM. Anyone
needing a ride MUST say so when they call in. We really pack the bus and hall, so call ahead to

March is Developmental Disabilities Month ...
Self Advocates Becoming Empowered-Rutland
is a group of citizens with disabilities that learn to speak up for themselves and wanted to use the
piece as part of the their Disability Awareness Campaign, to get the message out that we sometimes
get picked on, and it still hurts. But we also have the same things in life as people without disabilities, like jobs, family, hobbies, fears and dreams. This group continually sets goals and reaches
them. The picture shows our puzzle pieces hung together in a community web at the Chaffee Art
Center in Rutland. Look for the crooked piece to symbolize how people first see us, notice the
empty puzzle piece to show how people think of us, then notice the items we have in our collages,
we have much in common, the yarn webbing shows how we are interconnected to our community
by our jobs, dreams and fears. Lastly notice the last piece on the right fits, just like people with disabilities! It's a great piece.
** Look for our new Puzzle at the Diamond Run Mall during March.
You can make a piece of puzzle and add it on, Sunday March 30th at Diamond Run Mall .
