*Any person or horse suspended from USEF will not
be permitted to participate in an AHS show.

*Management has the right to divide, combine,
cancel, or change the order of classes if necessary.
*The decision of the judge is final and all fence
heights are approximate.
*Neither the horse show committee, AHS, or Hickory

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Leadline- Open to riders 6 yrs & under. Judged on
manners & suitability of mount to rider. May be
asked to trot. Not eligible for any other classes.
Mini Stirrup- open to riders 8 yrs & under. Not
eligible for any jumping classes
Short Stirrup Eq.- Open to children 12 yrs & under
who have not competed in any show over fences
exceeding 2’.
Short Stirrup Hunter- Open to children 12 yrs &
under. Riders to jump a simple course of 8 fences at
2’. May only cross enter into Short Stirrup Eq. and
Junior Pleasure
Beginner Eq- Open to all juniors who have not
shown in more than 8 shows in any one year. Riders
cannot jump over 2’ in any show and my only cross
enter into Modified Hunter
Long Stirrup- Open to adult amateur riders on
horses or ponies. May not have jumped higher than
2’6 at any horse show, not eligible for any jumping
classes other than Modified Hunter.
Baby Green- Open to horses & ponies that have not
competed over fences at any show prior to current
show year. Trotting corners not penalized. Ponies 2’,
horses 2’3.
Pre-Child/Adult Hunter- Open to junior riders and
Adult Amateurs. May not cross enter into Modified
Hunter. Ponies jump 2’, Horses 2’6. May be divided
if entries warrant.
Pre-Child/Adult Eq- Open to junior riders and Adult
Amateurs. To be judged on hands, seat, and control
of mount. Ponies jump 2’, Horses 2’6. May be
divided if entries warrant.
Junior Adult Pleasure- Open to horses/ponies ridden
by juniors suitable for use as a pleasure mount.
Judged on performance, manners, and suitability
Modified Hunter- Open to all Juniors & Adult riders
on horses or ponies. Riders may not have jumped 2’6
or higher at any show. May only cross enter into
Beginner Eq. or Long Stirrup
Children’s Hunter- open to all horses and ponies
ridden by juniors. Judged on performance, manners,
way of going, and suitability of mount to rider.
Fences 2’ for small/medium ponies, 2’6 large ponies,
3’ horses. May be divided if entries warrant
