Food For Thought
Thank You For Your Kind Words!
Ò Truly scrumptious Italian food that is far from your
stereotypical, everything in tomato sauce, Italian Restaurant.
I always find something wonderful on the Specials Menu. The
bread with the garlic/olive oil dip is simply fantastic!!
There's parking in front and behind the restaurant. The
restaurant includes a small bar area and a newly added front
porch. The decor is warm and comfortable and you can feel
equally at home dressed up or dressed casually.Ó

JANUARY
January is named after Janus (Ianuarius), the god of the
doorway; the name has its beginnings in Roman mythology,
coming from the Latin word for door (ianua) Ð January
is the door to the year. Traditionally, the original Roman
calendar consisted of 10 months, totalling 304 days,
winter being considered a monthless period. Around
713 BC, the semi-mythical successor of Romulus, King
Numa Pompilius, is supposed to have added the months
of January and February, allowing the calendar to equal
a standard lunar year (355 days). Although March was
originally the first month in the old Roman Calendar,
January became the first month of the calendar year either
under Numa or under the Decemvirs about
450 BC (Roman writers differ).
New Year's
Resolutions
It is a time of resolutions. Let’s
resolve to no longer make
resolutions! The following are some

I assume full responsibility for my actions, except
the ones that are someone else's fault.
In some cultures what I do would be
considered normal.
I need not suffer in silence while I can still moan,
whimper, and complain.
I am at one with my duality.
Blessed are the flexible, for they can tie
themselves in knots.
A scapegoat is almost as good as a solution.
Just for today, I will not sit in my living room on the
computer all day in my underwear. Instead, I will
move my computer into the bedroom.
I will no longer waste my time reliving the past;
I will spend it worrying about the future!
The complete lack of evidence is the surest proof
that the conspiracy is working.

Wind chill temperature is
the temperature as it feels to
someone outside in the open,
buffeted by strong winds that
all too often accompany winter
days. For example, if the actual
temperature is 0 degrees F and
the wind is blowing at 30 mph, someone out in the elements
would feel as though the temperature were actually
-26 degrees F.
