Sp Specific Gravity Specific Gravity Cups Quickly determine specific gravity or weight per gallon Use these precision-made stainless steel cups with your laboratory balance to determine specific gravity or pounds per gallon. Simply tare balance to cup weight, then weigh cup filled with sample. Order cups for US Standard or British Standard determinations. All cups meet MIL STD 45662A and are NIST-traceable; full-size cups are available with NIST-traceable calibration report supplied by the manufacturer. Cups with tare weights let you use your pan balance for specific gravity measurements. Tare weights are adjusted to within ±0.2 grams of cup weight (0.1 gram for 8.32-mL cups). Each piece of the instrument is cut from solid bar stock to ensure an absence of pits or cavities. Close manufacturing tolerances ensure test material will not be forced into threads. To use, tare balance to pycnometer weight, then fill pycnometer with test material and cover container with lid. Screwing down lid forces excess material out through a 1⁄8" (3.2 mm) hole. Reweigh filled pycnometer and determine density by weighing pycnometer filled with water and computing the difference. 38001-00 Catalog number T-38001-00 Capacity 11.5 mL Dimensions 1"H x 2" dia Price 2.5 H x 5.1 cm dia Gay-Lussac Bottles 34580-43 C onveniently determine the density of ingredients and products Gay-Lussac bottles have ground-in, perforated glass stoppers with outer ground-on cap to reduce evaporation. Kit includes weighing pans and plummets to easily adapt to your application. Sample holders let you measure in air or in a medium causing buoyancy. Special design prevents air bubbles from adhering so results won’t be distorted. Specially shaped sieve lets you completely immerse your sample to weigh a substance with a density less than that of the liquid causing buoyancy. Compatible with balances with different readability ranges—simply exchange the pan adapter. Use with most Sartorius analytical balances. What’s included: two beakers (76 and 55 mm), bar frame, thermometer with retainer clip, glass plummet, sieve for immersing samples, sample holder, metal platform, gasket for ME models, and three adapters.
