Mothers of Preschoolers
You are welcome and invited to join other and their children for some amazing playdates this summer. You do not need to be involved in MOPS to come. Come out and meet some new moms and kids. Join us for Tuesday Summer Playdates! Bring your kids, friends and a packed lunch. We’ll meet around 10 am. In the event that there is rain, an email will be sent out with alternative plans. June 5 Clarence Town Park ‐ Main St. 10405 Main Street, Clarence This park is located on Main Street across from Hillcrest Drive. There are several small playground apparatuses as well as a small lake. Swings, slides and picnic areas are available as well. Restrooms are just a short walk from the site. June 12 Clearfield 370 Hopkins Rd, Williamsville On Hopkins between Klein and Maple, it is right behind the Clearfield library. There is a pool, splash park, tennis courts and playground. The cost of the pools is $5 or free if you have an Amherst resident ID card. June 19 Clarence Town Park ‐ Goodrich 5400 Goodrich Road, Clarence This is the park between Goodrich and Old Goodrich Roads. Park in the lot off of Goodrich Road and walk to the playground. The Library is just a short walk away and a great resource to take advantage of either before or after the play date. June 26 Strawberry Picking at Greg’s U‐Pick 9270 Lapp Road, Clarence Center
Lapp Road is off Transit going east. Or take Goodrich from Main, past County Road, and take a left onto Lapp Road. The farm is on the right side of the road (you'll see signs). Prices are $3.75 per quart for 1‐3 quarts or $3.25 per quart for 4 or more quarts. Bring your own bucket or bowl to pick the berries or buy some there. Bathrooms are near the farmhouse fairly close to where we will be picking. There is also a small petting zoo and a few picnic tables. http://www.gregsupick.com/
July 3 Country Parkway Elementary School Playground 35 Hollybrook Drive, Williamsville Country Parkway is off Sheridan Drive (near Youngs) between Ayer and Bauman Roads. Turn onto Country Parkway from Sheridan Drive and drive until you get to the stop sign and take a left on Hollybrook. The school is on the left. Park on the left side facing the school and walk around to the back. There are 2 great climbing apparatuses and 6 picnic tables in the center. If it is a really hot day bring a blanket so the kids can have a picnic under a tree. We can use the bathrooms inside the school.
July 10 Buffalo Zoo 300 Parkside Avenue, Buffalo Meet at the point where the parking lot and the sidewalk to the front gate meet along Parkside. We'll meet at 10am and then walk in together at 10:10am. Children 23 months and under are free. Children (2‐14) are $7 and adults are $10. We may be able to get a few adults in free if a few moms already have memberships. Parking Fee is $3.50 if you park in the lot – just purchase a token at the main entrance in order to exit the parking lot. Or park on the street for free. We’ll enjoy the animals, a picnic lunch and the playground! July 17 July 24 July 31 August 7 August 14 August 21 Garrison Park Garrison Road, S. Ellicott Street, Williamsville Located at Garrison Road, S. Ellicott Street and Park Drive, it is equipped with a wading pool that is 18" deep (perfect for toddlers), swings, slides, a climbing apparatus and a shaded gazebo with picnic tables. Dodge Elementary School Playground 1900 Dodge Road, East Amherst This playground is on Dodge, close to the intersection of North French Rd. The Dodge “Treehouse” is an expansive playground built in the fall of 2011. There are traditional elements, such as slides and swings and more. North Forest Park 85 North Forest Road, Williamsville This beautiful park has three tennis courts, a climbing apparatus great for toddlers, lots of grass to play on, a nice little walking path, a sheltered picnic area as well as a few tables near the climbing apparatus. There are plenty of shady areas as well. (There is a pool, but it is not open until 1pm because of swimming lessons.) Clarence Town Park ‐ Goodrich 5400 Goodrich Road, Clarence This is the park between Goodrich and Old Goodrich Roads. Park in the lot off of Goodrich Road and walk to the playground. Island Park Behind 5583 Main Street, Williamsville Located behind Williamsville Town Hall, this park is the scene of many Village special events. It contains swings, slides, climbing apparatus, barbecue grills and a two foot wading pool. There are two picnic shelters (the large pavilion and small picnic gazebo). Can park in the library parking lot. Buffalo’s Waterfront/Emerald Beach 329 Erie Street, Buffalo Located in downtown Buffalo, Erie Basin Marina is a free to enter. Drive past the restaurant “Templeton Landing” on your right and enter the marina. Keep driving to the end point and park there. There is an observation tower and the beach is across the street from the parking area. Swimming is not allowed but the kids will have fun playing in the sand. Bring sunscreen or umbrellas as there is no shade on the beach. “The Hatch” restaurant is a short walk away that sells burgers, hotdogs, grilled cheese and ice cream. There are bathrooms with showers nearby as well. Plan on enjoying lunch after the kids play at the beach on the picnic tables at The Hatch. There is also the Naval Park nearby to check out afterward or before with a real submarine, battleships, tank, helicopter and more. http://www.eriebasinmarina.org/
