Children at CAC When families choose which church to attend, the children’s ministry will be high on their list of priorities. Parents will want to ensure that their children are Defending Christian Marriage in an Age of Bigotry well taught, welcomed, have fun and meet friends. CAC does not have the biggest and flashiest children’s ministry around but children have always been an important part of our church. Our emphasis is on teaching the Scriptures in a loving and fun environment. Our main children’s ministry is on Sunday mornings. We have groups for crèche (under 3), preschool (3 to 5 year-olds), infants (5 to 8 year-olds), primary (8 to 12 year-olds) and young teenagers. On a normal Sunday morning the children start off with the main congregation singing songs. We love having them as a part of our church. They then move to the small hall where they listen to a talk and sing more songs. They then break into their groups for age appropriate teaching. This term they are learning from the Old Testament stories in the books of Exodus and Joshua, whilst the preschool group is looking at the topic of prayer. They are currently raising money for Bibles to be sent to South Africa. The Sunday School is led by able adult teachers with the assistance of teenagers as helpers. Our Sunday school coordinator is Adam Macbeth. Adam has believed in Jesus from an early age, is married to Nadine and is father of Joel (yr 7) and Lucas (yr 4). Adam believes that Sunday School should be biblically based, fun and relevant. This means we are just over half way there. Please keep praying for God's provision, and how He is calling you to respond to our church's financial needs. Men's Breakfast 7:30am, Friday 12 August 2016 George’s Café Piccadilly 210 Pitt Street, Sydney RSVP: Philip Davis 0435 050 568 or [email protected] What happens in the home is ultimately important for our children’s Christian formation. Adam firmly believes in the role of a believing, present, loving Christian father who is honest about his shortcomings but open about his walk with Christ. This will give children the best chance of knowing the gospel for themselves and following Jesus for eternity. Adam believes that father’s should be supported and prayed for. Adam is always looking for people to teach and help. If you are interested in this ministry then please contact him at [email protected]. Gav, Pastor Men’s Conference The men from CAC will be attending the "Men Meeting the Challenge" conference at the Kings School on Saturday 3rd September 9am to 4:15pm. For registration see www.menforchrist.asn.au or contact Sandeep Sachdev at [email protected] for more information. "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." (Luke 6:37) Praise: Praise the Lord for the knowledge, through His Word, that there is nowhere that the Lord is not present. He is personally present not infused into things like a great force, rather personally present, watching, speaking, knowing. (Psalm 139:7-10) Thank God for the CAC person generously providing a car for the Cushieri's, and another Sydneysider willing to help the kids with English while they are in Australia. Also thank God for the end of the Uni academic year overseas, and the many opportunities they had to share the gospel. Pray: • For the children and youth of CAC who are receiving teaching from the bible that will strengthen their faith and enable them to share the joy and peace that only Jesus gives. • Pray today for the broken hearted, that those known to God would feel His presence, His love and His comfort. Pray for opportunities to share the love of God and take someone new to Church next Sunday, that they may come to know they are highly valued by a God, who gave his Son for them. •Pray that Cherrybrook High School students will take the time to reflect on Jesus' sacrifice at the Cross and come to a deeper appreciation of its meaning. •Pray for the solid establishment of the work of Global Recordings in PNG. There are recordings in 570 languages to distribute, and many more yet to be made. •Pray for Pakistan. That the government will act positively to eliminate the bias against minority citizens. That Christians will conduct their lives to demonstrate the Biblical truth that "they will know you by your love". Winter Retreat 2017 The next Winter Retreat will be held on August 4–6 2017. Winter Retreat is one of the best opportunities in our church life to spur each other on in the Christian walk; please save the date. Global Recording Network 2017 Mission Trip to Nepal After Christmas 2016, for about three weeks, Ranjit and Janette Thambyrajah will be taking a Trekabout team to Nepal to share the gospel. Trekabout will require a high level of fitness as it involves potentially mountainous trekking. You will need to be able to cope with unforeseen situations and trust God through them. If you feel that God is leading you to this, please talk to Ranjit and Janette. 7 August 2016 9.30am Kids Church Adam Macbeth 6.30pm Loving one another Dan Butler Romans 14 : 1 – 15 : 13 14 August 2016 9.30am IN THE PAST : One nation Gav Poole Exodus 6 : 1 – 12 , Ezekiel 37 : 15 – 28 6.30pm Service that glorifies God Mike Dawborn Romans 15 : 14 – 16 : 27 Diary Dates Sun 7th August – Kids Church Last year Janice Scott took knitted dolls made by Grace from ARV to give to children who have nothing.
