CIVIL WAR DEAD OF MONROE COUNTY, NEW YORK
Adapted from History of Monroe County, New York, 1788-1877, by McIntosh, Philadelphia: Everts, Ensign &
Everts, 1877.
Introduction to this document
These names have been taken from pages 269-293, “Roster of Soldiers in the ‘War of Rebellion’, from Monroe
County.” Names and information have been listed as in the book. The list contains around 650 names. It is an
incomplete list. There were close to 1,400 Monroe County soldiers who died (out of 10,000 total) from all
causes during the war. This list also does not include any soldiers from Clarkson because the 1877 volume has
incomplete information about those soldiers.
