ollegedale Camp Meeting will be
held May 23-26 on Southern’s
campus. John Bradshaw, speaker
and director of It Is Written, will be the
featured speaker. He will be speaking
Wednesday through Saturday at 7:00
p.m. and Sabbath morning at 8:30 a.m.
and 11:30 a.m. The theme for Camp
Meeting is “His Vision—Our Mission”.
All adult meetings will meet in the
Gymnasium.
Zane Yi, pastor of the Canton Church,
will be the speaker for the Young
Adults with the topic “Through a Glass
Darkly: Deconstructing ‘Jesus’”. The
Young Adults will meet at Collegedale
Adventist Middle School nightly from
7:30 to 9:00 p.m. and on Sabbath
from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the
Sanctuary.

Vaughan Choudree is the new Facility Manager for the Church,
replacing Jim Jolly who has moved to Williamsburg, VA to pursue
a Doctorate in history at The College of William and Mary.
Vaughan arrived in the States in August 2011
from South Africa. “It had been our dream to
educate our children in the United States,” says
Vaughan.
He and his wife, Lee-Ann, have three
children: Tamika, Saskia, and Reed. Besides
enjoying his wife’s amazing coooking,
Vaughan describes his family as an
outdoor family, who enjoy playing sports
as a family and hiking.
Vaughan’s background includes
engineering inspection, projects, sales,
financial services, health care and nonprofit work. He has proven ability to build
strong coalition between cross functional
teams and is an adaptable team player. 

Joanne Ivy, sister of Bonnie Myers, passed away May 5. Services
were held in Memphis. Sympathy Cards may be sent to Todd Ivy,

Debbie Ruhling Gallgher, sister of Paul Ruhling and granddaughter
of Bruce and Adele Wickwire, passed away May 9.
Rose Shim, mother of JT Shim passed away May 8. A memorial
service will be held at a later date.
Lillian Thompson, mother of Peg Knecht and grandmother of Dana
Milholm, Dixie Owens, Sheri DeGrave, Dennis Thompson, Dan
Thompson, and Connie Schwark, passed away May 3. A memorial
service will be held in her hometown in Michigan later this
summer. Memorial contributions can be made to ADRA, 12501

Patsy Townsend, mother of Brenda Townsend, passed away May 2.

do to you, how you feel or
where you are, God is there.
We want our children to know
that nothing is impossible for
God when we trust in Him.
Come enjoy the lessons, crafts,
games, snacks and friends.
Those going in 6th through
8th grades can participate in
Service Camp. Registration
is first-come-first-served
with a cap of 50 students.
Service Campers will perform
service for our Church and
local schools, crafts, team
building activities, make baby
blankets for Samaritan Center,
charitable carwash, daily video
prep for SKY VBS group, as
well as find out how awesome
it is to serve the Lord as they
put their trust in Him.

by the Church Sunday, June
10 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. to
pre-register and be assigned to
a group.
Volunteers: Offering any
program takes many hands.
We can only provide these
programs with your help.
Prayerfully consider helping
out this year. We need
help with crafts, missions,
snacks and games, but
mostly we need crew leaders
and assistants. Volunteer
applications are also available.

Wellness Summit (June 10-11):
Southern Adventist University is
hosting a conference to inspire
and educate people on how to
build successful wellness practices
in their homes and communities.
Keynote speakers include Neil
Nedley, an Adventist author and
medical director of the Nedley
Depression Recovery Program,
and Mike Huckabee, the former
governor of Arkansas who lost 110
pounds through lifestyle changes.
