Re: New BCA Office Manager
Dear Member Contractor:
The BCA is looking forward to Sara Scott joining our team as Office Manager in our St.
Catharines office. Her leadership will provide an additional level of service to our Boards of
Directors and member contractors. Sara will report directly to the President of the BCA and
will be working with the staff of the BCA on the implementation of the strategic and
operational plans and the development of effective policies and procedures of the
Association. Sara will also be responsible for the financial and human resource
management of the Association as well as developing and maintaining effective
communication with all stakeholders of the BCA.
Sara Scott is excited to be joining the team at Boilermaker Contractors’ Association effective
December 9, 2013. Sara’s previous experience was with BDO Canada LLP, where she had
over thirteen years of experience in public accounting providing assurance, accounting and
advisory services to clients in multiple sectors. As a senior manager, Sara was the client
relationship contact for a significant portfolio with a specialization in labour organizations,
including associations and unions, and multi-employer benefit plans. As part of BDO
Canada’s Pension and Benefits Industry Group, Sara was highly involved with drafting thought
leadership for clients and industry organizations, training and assisting other BDO offices
across the country on relevant issues. In addition to her experience in detailed file review,
research, financing and proposals on assurance engagements, Sara brings a wealth of
knowledge with respect to internal processes and controls.
Sara has been involved with the annual audit and consulting on the Boilermaker Contractors’
Association of Canada since 2005 and is very happy to be joining the team.
