NAME: ___________________ PERIOD:_____ Resting HR:________ Target Heart Rate (THR) To find your Resting Heart Rate (RHR), you will need to relax your body. To get the most accurate RHR reading you will need to check it first thing in the morning. Your Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) is a high level in which you should not be exercising. If you reach your MHR, you should slow down your activity and monitor your breathing. If you feel any tightness in your chest, you should notify your teacher ASAP. The Target Heart Rate Zone (THR Zone) is the activity level your heart needs to operate in to continually strengthen the heart muscle. This zone is between 60 and 80% of your Maximum Heart Rate. Below is the formula for calculating your THR Zone.
