How Much Caffeine?
The caffeine content of a cup
of coffee varies depending on
how it’s brewed, with a typical eight-ounce cup in the
US containing 85 milligrams, while
the UK and Scandinavia serve coffee
packing 140 milligrams per cup
(though servings are often smaller
than in the US). Coffee shop drinks
can range from 75 to 165 milligrams
per eight-ounce cup– but keep in mind
that servings are usually twice that.
Even decaffeinated coffee contains a
little caffeine, about 2 to 15 milligrams per cup. Tea is lower in caffeine, ranging from about 15 to 60 milligrams per cup. A 12-ounce cola
drink delivers about 35 milligrams of
caffeine. Chocolate also contains caffeine, with about 100 milligrams in a
cup of semisweet chocolate chips.
Most so-called “energy drinks” contain
more caffeine than coffee, tea or cola.

Our Lake Forest Residents’ News, Comments, Etc...
Friendship Committee Notes
A cheerful thank you to the Easter Elf who put a bright yellow Peep on my shelf. The resident bunnies welcomed the Peep with open paws, and named her "Goldie."
Last Wednesday Speedy Arnold entertained us after dinner - and what fun it was! His old
familiar songs were great to sing along with, and his silly songs brought out the child in all of
us. My favorite was the one with the nursery rhymes that "Threw it out the Window!"
The garden workers were out Saturday morning cleaning up the flower garden. Minnie and
Nancy G. were pleased to welcome Jim H. as a new helper. His assistance was much appreciated, and they look forward to continue working with him. Good job, ladies and gentleman!
Here is some Easter trivia concerning something we all love - candy!
Seventy-six percent of Americans eat the ears of their chocolate bunnies first.
Jelly beans made their U.S. debut in 1930.
Enough jelly beans are made in the U.S. each year to fill a giant egg 89 feet high, and 60 feet
wide.
Easter is the second best selling candy holiday after Halloween.

This is the time of year of the celebration of Passover in the Jewish faith, and the Easter
celebration by Christians of the Resurrection of Christ.
Blessings to all our friends of both faiths at this special time.
