Time for lunch & shopping on own in Boothbay Harbor
A picturesque seaport, Boothbay Harbor retains the atmosphere of an old New England village. Fishing craft lie
alongside wharves that follow the quaint, winding village streets. Yachtsmen and artists began vacationing here in the
early 1900's. You'll have free time today in Boothbay Harbor to explore the local galleries boutiques and restaurants
for lunch on your own. Several restaurants are scattered about the harbor including Fisherman's Wharf Inn's
Waterfront Restaurant to McSeagull's near the Red Booth, both have indoor and outdoor seating and full bar. Also,
Amatos' and in front of the coach along commercial street is Ebbtide and further down the Tugboat and many others!

Bar Harbor has been celebrated for its breathtaking beauty ever since the island was discovered in 1604 by Samuel de
Champlain, Who named is "isle de monts desert" (Mt. Desert island) for its bare, desert-like mountaintops. In the first
national park founded east of the Mississippi. You will see 9 mountains over 1,000 feet high, stone bridges, lakes, ponds
trail and carriage roads. You will travel the entire park loop road with stops at Cadillac Mountain (weather permitting),
thunder hole on Ocean Drive and learn about the rich and famous visitors who built summer cottages in Bar Harbor.
People have drawn to the rugged Coast of Maine throughout history. Awed by its beauty and diversity, early 20thcentury visionaries donated the land that became Acadia National Park. The park is home to many plants and animals,
and the tallest mountain on the U.S. Atlantic Coast. Today visitors come to Acadia to hike granite peaks, bike historic
carriage roads, or relax and enjoy the scenery.

along the water- front along with parks and a shoreline walking trail.

lobster cookers packed with seafood, corn on the cob, mussels and potatoes all steamed together!

Mount Battie & Camden Hills State Park
You will go to the summit of Mt. Battie at Camden Hills State Park, where the mountains meet the sea. Camden Hills State Park
signature location is the scenic vista high atop Mt. Battie where sweeping views of Camden, Penobscot Bay, and surrounding
islands await. You'll hear about the towns that made famous by the movie Peyton Place, A Seal Named Andre, and
Edna St. Vincent Millay.
70TH Annual Maine Lobster Festival along Rockland Harbor

Festivities include costumes, music & entertainment and of course feasting on hot Maine Lobster, lobster rolls and
other fresh seafood delicacies at your leisure for lunch on your own today. Watch a variety of talents from lobster trap
building to fishing demonstrations, visit the craft tents & other local highlights including tours of a Navy ship docked at
the waterfront park, plus amusing photo opportunities with King Neptune, the festival’s mascot. There are many
boutiques, art galleries, antiques shops & museums (such as the Maine Lighthouse Museum & Wyeth Art Center, at
which admissions fees apply) with in walking distance of the festival in downtown Rockland as well.
