Let’s conserve water in these dry conditions TasWater is responsible for ensuring our customers have secure access to water supplies regardless of the weather, climate change or other challenging circumstances. As such, we are launching our new water conservation campaign, Save Each Drop. Save Each Drop means making changes. Even a small change can make a difference. Not over running kitchen and bathroom taps or cutting back on time in the shower can help reduce non-essential water use. More handy tips can be found on the Save Each Drop page on our website. When Tasmania experiences dry conditions, water restrictions may be issued. We are regularly monitoring our drinking water catchments and storages to assure our customers of a continuing and secure water supply. In some instances, a water restriction will be declared as a way of managing supply. This will be directly communicated to customers to explain what the water restriction means. At the moment, we have declared Stage 1 water restrictions in Bridport, Currie, Whitemark and Colebrook. We are also closely monitoring Campbell Town/Ross, Longford, Oatlands, Triabunna, Orford, Pioneer, Ringarooma, Scamander, Swansea, Tunbridge, Rosebery, Strahan, Smithton, Somerset/Wynyard, Launceston, Penguin and Scottsdale. We urge customers in these towns to implement the water saving tips found on our website. We thank you for your help in conserving water for Tasmania.
