I N V I TAT I O N New Audio Artist Award Float - The Festival for Audio Dramatisation are thrilled to invite any one studying Media Production in the UK and Independent Radio Producers under the age of 30 to participate in an international audio drama competition, 'The New Audio Artist Award', with winners showcased at this summer’s festival in Denmark. This is a unique opportunity for you to get your production heard by acclaimed radio drama producers from both Denmark and England as well as achieve international exposure and get your work in the spotlight. Who are we? FLOAT is a non-profit audio drama and audio guide festival that takes place 20th -23rd of August this year, in the two largest cities in Denmark: Copenhagen and Aarhus. The festival presents Danish and International audio dramatisations aiming at generating new attention, greater variety and creative interaction on a national as well as international level in the genre. FLOAT is organised by the Radio Drama Network in cooperation with the Danish National Broadcasting Company (DR, Denmark), Swedish Radio (SR, Sweden), Norwegian Broadcasting Company(NRK, Norway), Icelandic Radio (RUV, Iceland), The British Broadcasting Company (BBC, England), the Danish Association for Blind People (DK), Copenhagen STAGE(DK), The House Theatre(DK), and ACT1(DK) along with other independent Danish and international radio drama producers. What is this all about? The competition ‘New Audio Artist Award’ is aimed at discovering and showcasing the next generation of aspiring radio producers and offering a unique opportunity to get their productions evaluated by acclaimed radio producers from Denmark and England as well as achieve international exposure at the New Audio Artist Award held at the festival. Members of the jury will include, amongst others, Dorthe Riis Lauridsen; an esteemed radio drama producer at the Danish National Broadcasting Company (DR), Claire Broughton; an award winning comedy producer at Hat Trick Productions and Richard Shannon, playwright, director and Sony Award winner and Radio Drama Prix Italia nominee. The winners will have their work featured along with comments from the judges on their choices. So what is the challenge… New Audio Artists Award is sponsored by HINDENBURG SYSTEMS Find us onTwitter: @RDNetvaerk Facebook: FLYD - Festival for Lyddramatik website: www.radiodrama.nu/ What do we want? • • 10 - 15 minutes self contained audio pieces of any dramatic genre. o We cannot except excerpts of a larger piece o We will accept dramatised documentaries or documentaries which include dramatised elements o You may submit an episode of a series, but please bare note that this will be assest as a self contained 10-15 minutes piece. o The production must have been made within the last 18 Month o A .jpg formatet picture with your audio work via mail, we will accept a public dropbox or we transfer link for larger files Program notes describing the piece, the actors and crew involved and the copyright information of any music used. When do we want it? • We will be accepting entries between the 1st of May and 1st of June, 2015 • The final verdict will be announced in on the 15th of July, 2015 Who can enter? • Anybody who is currently studying media with an interest in radio drama and independent radio producers working in the UK under the age of 30 How do I enter? • Put your work up on SoundCloud in as high a quality as possible (we will be listening to the work on studio monitoring speakers so mp3 will be a disadvantage) • Email the link, an .jpg illustrative photo and your completed entry form to: [email protected] What happens if I win? • Your work will be played at an international audio event (FLOAT - Festival for Audio Dramatisation) in Copenhagen, showing off British talent followed by a statement from two of the head jury members • You will be given the opportunity to come and present your work if you would like.
