Head Lice Poem
By Jody Green
Head lice don’t fly,
head lice don’t hop.

You can swim, bathe or shower,
but head lice won’t stop.
They may hang out on a
brush, clothes, hat or a comb.

If you share these things at school,
you may carry them home.
By accident, you might share
lice with others.

They can spread to your friends,
cousins, sisters or brothers.
Lice suck the blood
right out of your head,

And head-to-head contact is
how they are spread.
They won’t make you sick, but
they might make you shout.

Lice are annoying –
Gotta comb them out!
Lice may show up at
sleepovers, in ‘selfies’ and hugs.

Share kindness and laughter,
but please don’t share bugs.
