A collection acts as a container for clips which may be set in several ways. i Gateway to Cyber World -7 SOUVENIR 05 HOW TO INPUT FILE Click over Import Picture and Video of Movie Tasks. Now, select your existing file and after that click on OK so as to finish. Drag Clip i Gateway to Cyber World -7 SOUVENIR Now, drag a clip from the collection pane and drop it over the Storyboard. The Storyboard and Timeline both display your work in progress. Storyboard shows the sequence of clips, whereas Timeline shows the timing of clips. 06 HOW TO CREATE TRANSITIONS BETWEEN CLIPS In your movies, you may add the following different effects : Video Transitions It controls that how your movie plays from one picture to the next. You may also add a transition between two pictures on the Storyboard/Timeline. The transition plays in between the time interval which is to be given as after at the end of one clip and before the start of another clip. Transitions are stored in the video transition folder in the collection pane. To add Video Transitions, follow the steps which are given below : Click on View Video Transitions of the movie tasks. Video transitions will appear in the collection pane, e.g. Bars, Circle, Bow tie, Horizontal, etc. Now drag a video transitions and drop it between the two clips or pictures over the Storyboard. VIDEO EFFECTS A video effect decides that how a video clip, picture or title gets displayed in your project. It allows you to add a special effect to your movie. To add video effects, take the following steps: Click over view video effects of the movie task. i Gateway to Cyber World -7 SOUVENIR 07 Now, video effects will appear in the collection pane, e.g. Blur, Ease In, Ease Out, etc. After that drag a video effect and drop it on a video clip of the Storyboard. TITLES OF CREDITS Titles or credits allow you to add text such as the title of your movie, your name, date, etc. Select the location of title and add your desired text. It will show where you need to add a title. i Gateway to Cyber World -7 SOUVENIR 08 HOW TO IMPORT EXISTING DIGITAL MEDIA FILES You may import existing digital media files which are supported by Windows Movie Maker for you project. At the time of importing you may import multiple files at one time. In the Movie Task, you may import pictures, video, audio or music. HOW TO EDIT PROJECTS Add your imported captured video, audio or pictures to the Storyboard/Timeline, which becomes the content of your project. HOW TO PREVIEW PROJECTS AND CLIPS You can periodically check your project over the monitor for the sake of editing. How to Preview a Project 1. Add one or more clips to the Storyboard/Timeline. 2. On the Play menu, click on Rewind Storyboard or Rewind Timeline so as to go to the beginning of the project. 3. On the Play menu, click over Play Storyboard or Play Timeline. How to Preview a Clip 1. Click on the Clip that you want to preview in the contents pane. 2. On the Play menu, click over Play Clip. Note: For previewing a picture, click on the picture in the contents pane. i Gateway to Cyber World -7 SOUVENIR 09 HOW TO STOP PREVIEWING A PROJECT On the Play menu, click over Pause Clip or Stop to stop playing the clip the monitor. HOW TO PLAY A VIDEO IN FULL SCREEN MODE Select video/ picture on the Storyboard/Timeline or in the contents pane. On the viewing menu, click over Full Screen. HOW TO JUMP TO A CLIP IN A PROJECT 1. Click on Clip in the Storyboard/Timeline. 2. On the Play menu, click on Back to view the previous clip in your project or click on Forward for reviewing the next clip in your project. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS Shortcut keys are available for many of the commands in Windows Movie Maker. By using shortcut keys, you can quickly do common tasks.
