Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Please send tickets and payment to school in an envelope marked “Teacher
Raffle,” or bring them on the day of Carnival. Please make checks payable to Sherwood PTA. Raffle tickets
may also be purchased on the day of Carnival. The raffle ends at 2:30, and winning names will be drawn at
3:00. You do not need to be present to win.

2017 Sherwood Carnival
Student Contribution Request
!

We greatly need and appreciate the help of our generous Sherwood families to stock three of our most
popular games with prizes! We are asking our students to please bring to school the items listed below.
Students will receive one free Carnival ticket for each item donated. All contributions help the PTA keep
Carnival expenses as low as possible, which means more profit will be donated back to support the
students and staff of Sherwood. Thank you for your help!

• 1st and 2nd Grades: 2 single-layer iced cakes (or more!) for Cake Walk.
o Please bring cakes to school on Friday, March 10th, any time between 8:00 AM and
4:00 PM. If that isn’t possible, you may bring them the day of Carnival. There will be
a sign at the main entrance letting you know where to place your items. Please come to
any ticket table on the day of Carnival and request your free tickets.
o Cake directions: Combine all cake ingredients following directions from one box of cake
mix, and then split the cake batter equally into two cake pans prior to baking. Ice each
cake separately after baking. Disposable aluminum pans with plastic lids work perfectly
for this. At a minimum, please cover the cakes with plastic wrap secured with tape at
the bottom of the pan. The children will be carrying these cakes throughout Carnival. If
you purchase a cake from a store, please make sure nuts are not on the ingredient list so
that our children with allergies are safe.
• Kindergarten and 3rd Grade: 2 (or more!) full-sized cans of Pringles per child for Pringle
Toss. Items due by Thursday, March 9th.
• 4th, 5th, and 6th Grades: 2 (or more!) two-liter bottles of pop per child for Pop Ring Toss.
The 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes will be competing in the Pop Race for a special prize. Items
due by Thursday, March 9th.

Each Sherwood family will receive 5 raffle tickets to sell and/or purchase. Tickets are

to school by Thursday, March 9th.
• Please be sure to write on the envelope “Carnival Raffle.”
• Checks should be made payable to Sherwood PTA.

• Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of Carnival.

Wristband and Ticket Pre-Order
Why Should I Pre-Order a Wristband?
• A wristband is a wearable perpetual ticket. You may play games without having to use tickets
while wearing a wristband. *Certain games may have a limited amount of wins depending
upon prize availability.
• If you pre-order, you save $2 per wristband AND you receive 5 bonus tickets (for concession
items) per wristband. Purchase your wristband now for $15. Purchase your wristband on the
day of Carnival for $17 with no bonus tickets.
Why Should I Pre-Order Tickets?
• All concession items must be purchased with tickets. Most food items are between 2-7 tickets.
• All games will accept the wristband or tickets. If you don’t want or need a wristband, then you
will need to purchase tickets. Most games require 1-3 tickets per turn.
• If you pre-order, you will receive 5 tickets for $1.
• If you purchase the day of Carnival, you will receive 4 tickets for$1
Please return the portion below along with your payment by Thursday, March 9th. Please mark your
envelope to the attention of “Carnival Tickets.” Tickets and wristbands will be available for you at
the Will Call table on the day of Carnival.
