CALL TO ORDER
Construction Committee Meeting was called to order at 3:03 PM
AGENDA
1. Copies of the meeting minutes from 4-9-15 meeting were provided to the attendees.
2. Chair Gavin Donohue offered that the project remains on schedule and on budget, including
contingencies and moved the Bid Results discussion up on the agenda to accommodate member
schedules.
3. Bid Award Recommendations:
The CM and ACCA staff presented information to the committee in memo form, summarized as
follows:
Recently, the ACCA received bids for:
 BP-05 Miscellaneous Metals
 BP-09 Vertical Transportation
 BP-08 General Trades
 BP-10 Fire Protection
 BP-11 Plumbing
 BP-12 HVAC
As CMa Gilbane is recommending the rebidding of:
 BP-05 Miscellaneous Metals, due to conflicts in scope and cost.
 BP-09 Vertical Transportation, due to conflicts in scope, budget, and cost.
As CMa Gilbane is recommending to the Committee the award of:
 BP-08 General Trades: to Sano Rubin of Albany, NY in the amount of: $12,040,000.00
 BP-10 Fire Protection: to Condor of Schenectady, NY in the amount of: $686,800.00
 BP-11 Plumbing: to Eckert of Albany, NY in the amount of: $1,891,890.00
 BP-12 HVAC to: J.W. Danforth of Tonawonda, NY in the amount of: $6,103,500.00
The question was raised about budgeting for future costs and unknowns?
 The total of all bids recommended to date is $40,313,967.00, representing 74% of the total
project cost, and is within the budget for The Albany Capital Center meeting and convention
space including contingencies.
The question was raised about the remaining contingency relative to the value of the work bidding
or yet to bid?
 The total of all executed construction contracts to date, when combined with the current
recommendations to award, utilizes a total of $2.67M in contingency, leaving a balance of
$1.1 M.

Bid Award Recommendations (Cont.):
A motion was requested by the Chair to accept the recommendations to award by the CMa, offered by
Michael Skrebutenas, a Second provided by Sara Reginelli. The motion was unanimously approved .
4. A motion was requested by the Chair to accept the minutes from 4-9-15, offered by Sherri Brooks, a
Second provided by Michael Skrebutenas. The minutes were unanimously approved.
5. The work schedule was reviewed using the 10-26-15 weekly look ahead memo provided by Gilbane. It
was noted that this memo is issued weekly by Al Sorrentino to more than 40 agencies, elected officials,
building managers and individuals.
6. The discussion of a date and time for the next Construction Committee meeting was tabled pending
future bid results and recommendations to award.
7. As a matter of Other Business, the consensus of the Marketing Committee in support of the updated
interior artwork was reviewed along with the current images provided by the artist, Dahl Taylor.
