XR16L570 Smallest 1.62V to 5.5V UART with 16-Byte FIFO and Power-Save Full Featured Low Voltage UART in 24 and 32-QFN Packages with Automatic Hardware/Software Flow Control and a Unique Power-Save Mode T he XR16L570 (L570) Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) can be designed into a wide array of industrial, telecommunications and consumer applications. The L570 is designed for space limited applications such as cellular phones, digital cameras, global positioning systems, and other battery operated portable consumer products. The device is available in small form factors of 24 and 32-pin QFN packages. The L570 consists of 16-byte Transmit (TX) and Receive (RX) FIFOs with selectable trigger levels. The automatic hardware and software flow control features maximize data throughput and reduce CPU bandwidth requirements. The device has a Power-Save mode that reduces sleep current to less than 30 uA. The XR16L570 operates at a wide voltage range of 1.62V to 5.5V. The device supports data rates up to 4Mbps at 5V, 3Mbps at 3.3V, 1Mbps at 2.5V, and 750 Kbps at 1.8V over the industrial temperature range (-40ºC to +85ºC). Compatibility The XR16L570 is software compatible to the ST16C450, ST16C550, ST16C580, ST16C650A and XR16C850 UARTs.
