Give each student a copy of the exercise and ask them to match the words from the left to the words with the
same meaning on the right.

Cut up enough broken sentences so that there’s one for each pair of students. Distribute the halves at random.
Students then stand and try to find the other half of their sentence by reading their half aloud. Next, give
everybody a different card and repeat, but this time they have to memorise the words instead.
