Alexander Preis, Germany, 25 ILSP 4 Weeks Systems Engineer and studying International Management “I was thinking about going to EF San Francisco or EF NY and decided to go to NY because I wouldn’t normally go on Holiday in NY for 4 weeks, so I decided it would be best to take the EF course in NY and see all of the sights that I could. I’m here because I got a scholarship and the institution that I received the scholarship from, supports EF courses. I want to improve my English for me because I don’t really need it for work. This is more of a personal journey.” Lorenzo Burgalassi, Italy, 36 AYP 6 months Architectural Engineer “I came to EF because I, of course, want to improve my English. I chose New York because of its architectural history and its many large buildings. I am an engineer, so these types of things fascinate me. I am also a Master of Martial Arts and would like to open my own school one day. I know that knowing English will help me to attract more clients. “ WHAT DO OUR STUDENTS SAY? Tomoko Yoshino, Japan, 29 ILSP 3 months Travel Tour Guide and Hotel Waitress “I chose EF NY because I wanted to meet students from different countries, not just American students. Also, New York is known for its music and art and all kinds of culture and I wanted to experience that. EF’s New York campus is surrounded by nature, which is great for me because it allows me the space to study my English efficiently.” Ana Laura Morlet Damian, Mexico, 25 ILSP 24 Weeks Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Worked for the Mexican Government “All my life I wanted to travel for a long term trip and didn’t have the opportunity until last year. I decided that I wanted to add some skills to my CV and for myself. I went to a travel agency and they told me about EF. I also had 2 cousins who came to EF and had an amazing experience. I decided at the last minute to come to NY and I’m so glad I did. I met friends that I will have for a lifetime!” WHAT DO OUR STUDENTS SAY? Myoung-Chul Lee, South Korea, 28 UP student at EF New York “My favorite subject was Application Workshop. I got the essential information about the school application and Megan, the teacher, looked after all of my application procedure, like writing, essays, applying to the school online, etc. My favorite things about EF New York were the trips to Washington, D.C., Manhattan, my friends, the Campus- safe and clean. Many staff, guards and advisors that take care of the students. I visited US Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, Brooklyn Bridge, NY Mets Stadium, had excellent pizza and hamburgers. The most unforgettable thing I’ve done with my new friends from EF was the time I prepared for the University and hung out with my friends. I could study hard thanks to my friends’ encouragement and enjoy New York City with them. Almost every weekend, I visited attractions like MoMA Museum, Central Park, Broadway shows and Statue of Liberty. Even though some of my friends have left, we still keep in touch. If you seek an opportunity to give a change on your youth, I’d like to recommend to go with EF. It’s safe, stable and clean. And, all of the teachers are well-prepared and passionate. You can improve your language skills from well-organized curriculum and have a network of a variety of nations. I’m going to State University of New York at Albany, NY for Educational Administration and Policy Studies. In order to equip every factor for admission, EF assisted me to prepare for the English proficiency exams and other fundamental documents, like essays, recommendation letters, transcripts. In fact, it’s not easy to be accepted by the US university but I could get admission from one of the excellent schools in New York state thanks to EF’s assistance.” EF NEW YORK LSP STUDENTS PHILIP JOHNSON Executive Director RACHEL DAMIANI School Director Shaina Dymond Director of Residence Life Keiko Padilla Director of Student Services Danielle Furfaro Residential Housing Coordinator Kate Forsythe Residence Director Payal Batra Residence Director Justin Britton Academic Director Michael Hauser Academic Manager Lisa Wilkerson Volunteer Coordinator Kristina Cirrincione Curriculum Manager Keyth Kroboth Efekta Mentor / Cambridge Coordinator Elizabeth Haughton Academic Coordinator Megan Macedonia University Pathways Manager Stephanie Kelley Administrative Coordinator Allison Carella Administrative Coordinator Mary Steele Reception Coordinator David Delgado Activities Coordinator Maria Phillips ILSP Liaison/City Insider Johanna Mignon Activities Coordinator Ted Kelsey Student Experience Manager Jocelyn Chung Groups Manager Welcome to EF New York!
