He also has the power to read the thoughts of any military commander. In his true form, Hachiman is a splendidly-armored warrior. Ho Masubi (God of Fire) AL: CN Domains: Chaos, Destruction, Fire, Light Symbol: Boar Ho Masubi is one of the most feared gods in the Japanese pantheon, for he is a swift destroying of houses made from wood and paper. In his true form, he is a yellow and orange man with red hair. Around his waist, there is a terrible scar where his father cut him in half. Inari (God of Rice) AL: NG Domains: Good, Nature, Protection, Water Symbol: Rice Plant Inari watches over the sowing and reaping of rice, as well as the preservation of the crop after it has been harvested. he can control the flow of waters, the growth of plants, and all insect. Working together, they have the power to create anything. Being a touchy god, he won’t hesitate to destroy any community that fails to maintain an adequate temple to him. In his true form, Nai No Kami is a large, powerfully-built man. O-Kuni-Nushi (God of Medicine, Sorcery, Land, and Heroes) AL: LG Domains: Good, Law, Healing, Magic Symbol: None O-Kuni-Nushi has always confronted danger bravely and with a certain amount of cunning. He is able to cure any living animal of disease or completely heal it of its wounds. As a master of the land, he can speak with any living animal. In his true form, O-Kuni-Nushi is a samurai with a quiet, gentle manner and a ready smile. O-Wata-Tsu-Mi (God of the Sea) AL: NG Domains: Animals, Good, Nature, Water Symbol: Fish O-Wata-Tsu-Mi has the power to command any creature that swims in the sea (including men while they are in the water), and to move the waters of the ocean at will. In his true form, he is a tremendous serpentine dragon green in color, but he is equally comfortable in the form of an old man with gills. Raiden (God of Thunder and Fletchers) AL: CE Domains: Air, Chaos, Evil, Tempest Symbol: Black Mace with Crossed Lightning Bolts A petty and jealous god, Raiden is fond of eating human flesh, and receives a meal any time a man is slain by an arrow. In his true form, he has a horned, grotesque head and long, vicious-looking claws. Shina-Tsu-Hiko (God of Wind) AL: CN Domains: Air, Chaos, Knowledge, Strength Symbol: Three Curled Lines Shina-Tsu-Hiko has the power to control the winds anywhere in the world, and can use this capability to bring hot, dusty conditions, pleasant rains, terrible storms, and so forth. In his true form, he appears to be a well-appointed lord. Susanoo (God of Storms) AL: CN Domains: Chaos, Destruction, Tempest, Trickery Symbol: Lightning Bolt Susanoo has the power to deprive any being of flight for up to one week. He is a very unpredictable god. Sometimes, when he creates storms, the result is not so terrible. On other occasions, he savages the land from one end to the other, ripping up trees, destroying homes, and flooding crops. In his true form, Susanoo is a beardless man with a fierce aspect and no fingernails. Tsuki-Yomi (God of the Moon) AL: NG Domains: Animal, Good, Light, Moon Symbol: Hare in the Moon Pounding Rice in a Mortar Tsuki-Yomi’s function is to count the passing of the months. He has the power to control time, making it pass more slowly in one place than in another, stopping it altogether, or speeding it up. He also has the power to light the darkness. Native American Coyote AL: CN Domains: Animal, Chaos, Earth, Trickery Symbol: Coyote Although Coyote is responsible for teaching arts,crafts and the use of light and fire. He is primarily a bullying greedy trickster. This chaotic personality makes him difficult to understand. As a trickster he will usually be accompanied by a giant wolf or sometimes by a giant fox, wildcat, badger, or porcupine. Often his tricks will backfire on him. His role is primarily that of a cowardly thief. His followers will most often appeal to him to improve their thieving abilities or to be granted tricks involving illusionist spells of fire, light or darkness. Raven AL: CG Domains: Air, Animal, Chaos, Good, Trickery Symbol: Large Raven The Raven is the great transformer-trickster who is responsible for the creation/transformation of the world. Because of his great polymorph/shape change abilities he can appear in virtually any form he chooses. In addition to a raven, he may also appear as a fox, a jay or the moon. He will fight only as a last resort and then as a giant raven. Although known as the great provider for mankind (including the giving of fire) the raven loves to play tricks, usually for the purpose of obtaining food to satisfy his ravenous appetite. He is most likely to intervene on the behalf of his worshipers when they are in need of necessities. The most successful way to appeal to him is by offerings of food. Haststelsi (God of Racing; the “Red Lord”) AL: Neutral Domains: Animal, Earth, Strength Symbol: Running Horse This god appears as a man, all of whose equipment is red. When he enters a tribal area it is because he desires to race with any person and in any way. He never shows his godlike abilities (always running just a little faster than his opponent). His horse is a giant maroon animal and is enchanted so that it will run faster than anything it is competing against. Hastsezini (Fire God; “Black Lord”) AL: LE Domains: Evil, Fire, Destruction, Law Symbol: Torch This being is jet block and extremely ugly. He always appears wreathed in flames (the heat of which inflicts 2-20 points of damage to all that are within 10 yards of him). He is aware of anything that happens in any area that has a fire within 50 yards of it. The god is very fond of destroying villages by fire if they do not make sacrifices to him. All tribes fearing the god's wroth (especially in the dry season) will sacrifice food and fresh meat to him by burning there items at high noon. Heng (Thunder Spirit) AL: Lawful Good Domains: Air, Good, Law, Luck, Tempest Symbol: Lightning Bolt This god is favored among all the indian tribes because he can sometimes be relied upon to bring rain to those that suffer, and give luck to those that hurt. Heng is made aware of the need for rain by his priests, who must sprinkle large quantities of water on the ground to attract his attention. If he chooses to answer the summons, Heng will appear in a rolling thunder cloud as a braided warrior of the tribe that summoned him. The warrior that he chooses to copy for that summoning will have luck in bottle for the whole year (in the form of a +2 to hit enemies). Hotoru (Wind God) AL: Chaotic Good Domains: Air, Chaos, Good, Tempest, Wind Symbol: Clouds This being can sometimes be influenced by the needs of humans for certain types of weather or the growth of crops. On the other side of the coin, he can utterly destroy those same crops and humans for any slight to his priesthood. The god takes on the form of the chief of any village that he is near. While Hotoru is in this form, that chief will have a bonus of +1 added to all of his saving throw rolls. Pah (God of the Moon and Father of Humans) AL: CN Domains: Chaos, Good, Moon, Nature Symbol: Moon Atius Tirawa, which means "Father Above" in the Pawnee language, was the Creator god He was believed to have taught tattooing, fire-building, hunting, agriculture, speech and clothing, religious rituals (including the use of tobacco and sacred bundles), and sacrifices. He was associated with most natural phenomena, including stars and planets, wind, lightning, rain, and thunder. Shakak (Winter Spirit) AL: CE Domains: Chaos, Death, Evil, Water Symbol: Ice Spear This white-skinned deity is able to bring on any kind of cold weather at will. Those that sacrifice to him can often lessen the force of winter, but no one prays to this evil being for fear that he will come. Sacrifices always take the form of burning precious possessions during the dead of winter. While his form is usually human, his face is demonic with fangs and blazing white eyes. Snake-Man AL: CG Domains: Chaos, Good, Knowledge, Magic, Protection Symbol: Snake on Sand This god appears in the shape of a man with rainbow-colored skin. He always wears 75k gold pieces worth of jewelry. He ages at will, and often visibly turns younger or older in long conversations with other beings. He shows his favor upon ugly men or women who perform selfless deeds by raising their charisma. He takes the form of an incredibly handsome fighter. Bragi (God of Poetry and Song) AL: NG Domains: Good, Knowledge, Nature, Magic Symbol: Harp Bragi’s song has the power to make plants grow and bloom, and to charm any animal into doing his will. In his true form, Bragi resembles an old, white-bearded man with a sparkle in his eye. Forseti (God of Justine and the Arbiter of Divine Disputes) AL: LG Domains: Air, Balance, Good, Law Symbol: Scales Forseti knows when a lie is spoken anywhere and has the power to make any moral anywhere speak the truth, whether the individual wishes to or not. She has the power to kindle passion in any being, to control fires anywhere in the world, to set the future, to bless any woman with a child, and to alleviate pain and injury. In her true form, Freya is a voluptuous woman of entrancing beauty. Frigga (Goddess of the Clouds, Sky, Married Love, and Wives) AL: LN Domains: Air, Law, Magic, Protection Symbol: Spinning Wheel Frigga is the wife of Odin. He is only tolerated because of the great services he’s performed in the past for his people. Loki has the power to change his shape into anything. In his true form, Loki is a handsome young man who is always dressed in some combination of red and black. Odin (God of Battle, Knowledge, Wisdom, Poetry, and Inspiration) AL: CG Domains: Chaos, Good, Knowledge, War Symbol: Blue Eye Odin the “All Father” is the leader and creator of the Norse Gods. In his true form, Odin appears to be a man of about fifty with a patch over one eye (he traded his missing eye for a draught from the Well of Knowledge). He has a bald head and a long gray beard, and usually wears a gray tunic beneath a hooded cloak of blue. He is often accompanied by two old wolves and two ravens which perch on his shoulder. Sif (Goddess of Excellence and Skill) AL: CG Domains: Chaos, Good, Knowledge, Strength Symbol: Upraised Sword Sif is married to Thor and has hair made of real gold. She also creates many wondrous items like weapons and other objects. Sif is a slender woman of great beauty and often carries a long sword with her. Surtr (God of the Fire Giants) AL: LE Domains: Evil, Fire, Law, Strength Symbol: Flaming Sword Surtr can control any fire in the world. He hates the Norse gods and will aid any who trouble them. He appears as an immense fire giant, with crackling flames for hair and eyebrows. Thor (God of Thunder, Weather and Crops) AL: CG Domains: Chaos, Good, Protection, Tempest Symbol: Hammer Thor has complete control over the weather, and so is sometimes worshipped by merchants who depend upon his good graces to make long trading voyages safe. Thor can break any object, and he wields his magic hammer Mjolnir. Thor is a large, red-bearded man that is usually dressed in chain mail. Thrym (God of the Frost Giants) AL: CE Domains: Chaos, Evil, Magic, Strength Symbol: White Double-Bladed Axe Thrym hates the Norse gods and will lend aid to any who trouble them. He appears as a giant blueskinned man with a flowing white beard wielding a white double-bladed axe. Tyr (God of the Sword and Courage) AL: LG Domains: Good, Law, Protection, War Symbol: Sword Possessing only one hand, Tyr is the godly law enforcer, using his impressive swordsmanship to uphold order. In his true form, he is a bearded, fierce-looking warrior missing one hand.
