Page 3 of 9 15th Annual Mothers’s Day Madness May 9-10, 2015 Tournament Logistics 1. Saturday pool play will lead to Sunday seeding: • Each team is placed into a group. You will be seeded within your group for Sunday seeding. This will ensure that your team will be playing 4 different teams before you see the same team twice. Please refer to Sunday brackets for information on how seeding will work. 2. 12u/14u teams: The top 2 seeds in each group will be placed in the Gold bracket. Those seeded 3 and 4 will be placed in the Silver Bracket. Trophies will be presented to the Champions and Finalists in each bracket. Only champions and runner ups in the Gold bracket will qualify for PONY Nationals. 3. 10U teams will play in one bracket on Sunday. 4. Tournament Facilities. We will utilize 4 different fields during the course of the weekend: • • • 14U will use Black Rock Park in Collegeville. 12U will be split between Limerick Township Community Park/Manderach Park and Central Perk Youth Association fields. On Sunday, all 12U games will be held at Limerick/Manderach Park. 10U games will be played at Anderson Farm Park. All locations are on our Xtreme website. Simply click on the park name and the address will pop up. This will allow each of your parents to put it into their GPS for directions. A separate email will go out this week outlining the different nuances for each park. 5. Home plate umpire will report all scores into the appointed tournament personnel. 6. Before your team leaves your last game Saturday, it is your responsibility to go to the tournament registration table at your respective site to make sure your scores are correct. Any scores not submitted will result in the Tournament Director filling in one for your game. Page 4 of 9 15th Annual Mothers’s Day Madness May 9-10, 2015 Tournament Rules All PONY rules are in effect with following reminders and/or exceptions: . 1. Saturday rules – • ALL GAMES WILL BE 80 MINUTES, NO NEW INNING. At 90 minutes, the game will end, finish the batter. Score will revert back to last completed inning. • On Saturday home team determined by coin toss, called by team that traveled the furthest distance. • Saturday games can end in a tie. 2. SUNDAY rules• Home team decided by seeding with highest seeded team (lowest numbered team) having choice of home or away. For those teams that are matched up whose seeding is the same, home team will be determined by a coin toss. 1st base line is HEADS and 3rd base line is TAILS. • All Sunday games will be 80 minutes, finish the inning. We must have a winner. • Sunday Championship game in each bracket will have no time limit. • If game is tied at the end of the inning, the next inning starts international tie breaker until a winner is determined. After 7 innings international tie breaker will be used at top of 8th inning. • 10U – International Tie Breaker will begin at the top of the 7th inning. 3. Game starting time established by plate umpire. 4. Run Ahead Rule (losing coach has option to stop play at any time) 12 after 3 innings – 10 after 4 innings – 8 after 5 innings. 5. Courtesy runner for pitcher and catcher will be as per PONY rules. DP/Flex and/or EP rule per PONY rules. Please be sure to read over them and understand what they mean for your team. 6. Sunday Seeding will be based on the following criteria: (1) Wins, Losses, Ties (2) Runs Against – (3) Runs Scored – (4) Coin Toss. We do not consider head to head. 7. Forfeit - Failure to have 8 girls ready to play 10 minutes after scheduled start time and will result in a 7-0 win. 8. No protest will be considered on a judgment call. All others to be handled immediately by UIC and tournament director with their decision being final. A $75 fee will be charged to protest. $75 will be refunded if protest is upheld. 9. Tournament director will determine tournament rain format. Decision to stop play will be made by plate umpire. Rain interruptions are continued where they stopped, time permitted. 10. 5 warm up pitches to start game, 3 for all other innings. No infield warm ups after the 2nd inning. Page 5 of 9 15th Annual Mothers’s Day Madness May 9-10, 2015 11. No pregame infield practice, stay out of diamond area. No throwing or hitting balls into fences. No on deck or players behind plate. At conclusion of game please move your team out of dugout area as soon as possible so next team can move in. 12. Only manager, coaches and players will be allowed on field during a game. No outside interference or coaching from the sidelines will be tolerated. Violation of this rule may result in a team forfeiting a game. 13. Coaches must ensure that any player warming up another player using any form of a pitching motion wear an approved facemask within the confines of the ball park. 14. Sunday seeding and inclement weather will be posted online: www.xtremefastpitch.net 15. Tournament Director reserves the right to start a game early with a 10 minute notice to each coach. Be prepared. 16. Any conduct considered unsportsmanlike by an umpire or the tournament director will result in the ejection of the offender. Failure to comply could result in your getting a ticket. There is ample parking across Black Rock Rd. in case other spots are taken. Central Perk Youth Association - 1027 Cemetery Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473 • • • • • • Please note there are 3 parking lots at CP. The largest lot is the lot closest to the softball fields. The softball fields are numbered 3 and 4 on the map (at the fields they are noted as minors (3) and majors (4). There are baseball games going on at the complex so warm up space will be limited. There are also 2 full service snack stands located at the complex There are also 2 batting cages located next to field #4. Anderson Farm Park 499 Hopwood Road, Collegeville, PA 19426 (corner of Hopwood Road and Route 113.) All spaces that surround the Township Rec Center are off limits. These spaces are reserved for members of the Rec Center. Please be aware that if you park there, you will be asked to relocate. Food/Concessions • • • • Black Rock – A fully stocked snack bar will be available. The snack bar is centrally located to all fields. Anderson Farm Park – A snack tent will be available. Limerick Community Park/Manderach Park – Pots and Pans Catering food truck will provide the concessions at Limerick Township Community Park. Central Perk Youth Association – a fully stocked snack bar will be available for all of your food and beverage needs. Shopping, Dining, Entertainment: • • Providence Town Center (http://providencetowncenter.com/) is within 5 minutes from our Black Rock and Anderson Farm Park complexes which provides numerous restaurants and shopping opportunities. King of Prussia is also a short 10-15 ride East on Route 422.
