Already nurturing an impressive body of work that encompasses film, television, and theatre, John Magaro is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most
sought after and engaging young actors.
Recently, Magaro finished filming the Colombia Pictures film MAERSK ALABAMA opposite Tom Hank’s as his son, “Dan Phillips”. The movie is a chronicle of Captain Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks) and his crew’s encounter with
Somali pirates which will be released on March 22nd, 2013. He is also currently filming DEEP POWDER opposite Shiloh Fernandez, Haley Bennett,
Dana Eskelson, and Logan Miller.
Next, John can be seen co-starring opposite Josh Radnor, Elizabeth Olsen, and Richard Jenkins in IFC
Films movie LIBERAL ARTS. In October, he will also star in the Paramount Vantage’s film NOT FADE
AWAY opposite Bella Heathecote, James Gandolfini, Jack Huston, and Christopher McDonald. The movie is set in suburban New Jersey during the 1960s which follows a group of friends that form a rock band.
The film is directed by David Chase (THE SOPRANOS) and will be released on October 19th.

No stranger to the silver screen, his television credits include the critically acclaimed HBO film TAKING
CHANCE opposite Kevin Bacon, PERSON OF INTEREST, BODY OF PROOF, LAW & ORDER:SVU,
LAW & ORDER, and CONVICATION.
An accomplished theatre actor, Magaro has been seen in many productions in New York and throughout
the country, including originating the role of White Steve in Adam Rapp’s “Gompers.” Most recently, John
played the male lead in the critically-acclaimed production of “Tigers Be Still,” written by Kimberly Rosenstock and directed by Sam Gold (“Circle Mirror Transformation”), for the Roundabout Theatre Company.
John continues to reside in New York City.
