Since when he was very young, he was talented at painting and building. He started to become a painter when his teacher, Verrochio acknowledged him as an artist. At the early years, he painted calm things at Florence of Italy. But then, he got a letter from the duke of Milan for him to make weapons to defend the country. Then, he got better ideas from making weapons, so he started painting strong painting that showed his mind. But his techniques never changed. The first thing Da Vinci does in painting The first thing that Leonardo Da Vinci does in painting is that he would create a very detailed underpainting with grey and brown. That helped him paint the drawing in better colors. The Second thing Da Vinci does in painting The next step, Da Vinci would apply his colors in transparent glazes on top. Some of the underpainting should show through the layers, subtly helping to create form. Final technique Finally, he would put the paint on his palette with dark colors like brown, green, and blue.Then, paint the rest of the colors.
