audio files that you can listen too in the car or
wherever you go. Many online courses have a
large amount of reading online, so using Balabolka
to read your online material can be very helpful.
Ask us to show you how this works…
1. To have Balabolka begin reading text to you, locate the buttons
that are below the menu bar. The fifth button from the right is
the Play button. Click on this and the program begins reading the
text. You will not hear the reading unless you are using
headphones or there are speakers attached to the computer.
2. The next button to the right of the Play button is the Pause
button. Press this if you would like to pause the reading.
3. The next button to the right of the Pause button is the Stop
button. Press this if you would like to stop the reading.
Note: Use the Pause button if you would like to stop the reading and
want it to continue where it stopped the next time you press the Play
button. If you would like to change where it reads (skipping over text or
going to previously read text) press the Pause button.
Simplifying your alternate media…
Search for Key Words…
You can search for key words in your text with Balabolka.

within your textbook in preparation for exams. To search
for text:
1. Click Edit on the Menu bar, and then click Find.
2. In the Find what dialog box, type the word or phrase
you want to find, then click the Find Next button.
Creating Audio files…
You can use Balabolka to create mp3 files that you can then
play on your portable mp3 player. To create mp3 files:

2. In the Save Audio File dialog box, type the name you
wish to give your file (i.e.: Biology01). Make sure the
save as type is mp3 and click the Save Button.

unless you have Balabolka save it in another location. You
can now export the audio file to your mp3 player.
