An agreement made by opposing sides in a war to stop fighting for a certain time; a truce.
Armistice Day
November 11, 1918: Marks the day when the Germans signed an Armistice Agreement
with the Allied powers to stop fighting on the Western Front.
Germany’s
Agreement
They agreed to withdraw all land forces west of the Rhine (in French Territory),
Withdraw its fleet from the Baltic Sea, and surrender large amounts of equipment.

A plan that Woodrow Wilson hoped would bring stability and prosperity to Europe (this was
a great plan and would have worked...but people were not fans)

No secret treaties (alliances. We are looking at you Italy!)

War Guilt Clause
Germans must take total blame for the war
Land
Germany loses their colonies. They lose territory to France, Belgium, Denmark,
Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) and Poland.
Debt
Germany pays for the war. (Austria went bankrupt before they could)
Weapons
Germany must get rid of their weapons, remove troops from the Rhineland, and
reduce their Army
Territorial Clauses
No Anschluss: Germany was not allowed to Unite with Austria.

An international organization devoted to keeping peace. It did not have a lot of
power to do this.
