Armistice An agreement made by opposing sides in a war to stop fighting for a certain time; a truce. Armistice Day November 11, 1918: Marks the day when the Germans signed an Armistice Agreement with the Allied powers to stop fighting on the Western Front. Germany’s Agreement They agreed to withdraw all land forces west of the Rhine (in French Territory), Withdraw its fleet from the Baltic Sea, and surrender large amounts of equipment.
