The Creative Hands Group at work
Our new 2017 Board
The Creative Hands program formerly known as Hooks and Needles
has been under the direction of Shirley Gruber for many years. If
you join this group you will find that all the creative arts are
explored; from flower arranging, to jewelry crafting and everything
in between. Pictured above are some of the crafts created for the
Holiday Season. They were also responsible for the beautiful cloth
banner hanging in the Eating Room. Wood Carving is now one of the
newest offerings: (See monthly schedule for all classes and groups)

On January 11th, we held the first board meeting of 2017
which was my first meeting as President. The transition to
the new Presidency and Board is almost complete and is
being accomplished smoothly. During the meeting I clarified
the role of some officers and Board members and presented
appointments for approval by the Board.

Barbara Mlcuch will continue as Travel Coordinator and
Volunteer Coordinator. She will work with me on special

streamlining the membership renewal process.
All
indications are that it ran smoothly.

Valentines Story
once bitten twice shy
After been married for 45 years, having 3
children, all ready to leave the nest I felt
it was time for a divorce as my husband was a
very cold man.. I knew that although he had
been a good provider and father, he had never
showed any feelings for any of the family.
So aged 65 I began to form a new life. It
wasn’t easy but I was very comfortable just
being myself. I didn’t really need a man but
still something was missing. On Valentine’s
Day my old school friend rang me and told me
she had found the perfect partner for me.
Barry has been with me for 8 years now. I
started caring and nurturing again. I don’t
regret anything — my life is complete. He is
the best dog anyone could wish for , plus he
has never bitten me or anyone else.

Jane told her husband, that after she died he
should go out and find another wife. Jane also
said that the his new lady could have her designer clothes too.
John replied that this was not possible
as
Anne-Maria was a size 10 whereas Jane was a
size 16!
ASTROLOGY
What is your sign?
Aquarius
(January 20nd – February 18th)
Aquarians are generally progressive, original, independent and humanitarian. They like to have fun with friends, fighting for causes,
intellectual conversation and listening. They are able to see, without
prejudice, both sides of an argument, which makes them people who
can easily solve problems or difficult situations. On the other hand
some of them are often eccentric and over energetic.
People born under the Aquarius sign, look at the world as a place
full of possibilities. They are often capable of perceiving the future
and they know exactly what they want to be doing f
ten or twenty years from now. So they are perceived as thinkers,
progressives and humanists. They always feel good in a group or a
community, so they constantly strive to be surrounded by other people. They will continually strive to ensure freedom of speech,
.
But beware Aquarians dislike: broken promises, being lonely, dull
or boring situations and most importantly people who disagree
with them!!
Do you recognize anyone in the LIFT from the above description?

Comments from our trip to Branson Missouri
If you want to experience the true meaning of Christmas, Branson is
the place to go. We were so impressed with the way of life in Branson;
honoring our veterans at every show, keeping Christmas traditional and
the talented people performing. The Osmond brothers and the Lennon
sisters started us off with memories of growing up with them on the
Andy Williams and the Lawrence Welk shows. Then we were entertained by the Dutton and Presley families, Clay Cooper and the exceptional show and luncheon on the famous “Showboat”.
Walking though the village shops in winter weather, wearing gloves,
scarves and winter coats was certainly a thrill for some of us!!
Winter wonderland for sure!
We found the “Heartland of America”!
Five days in “Wonderland”!
Fabulous, fabulous shows!
And an outstanding group of LIFT members made this
a trip to remember for ever.

A: Don’t worry it’s just a harmless stalker
Dear Aunt Agony,
Q: I have recently been dating a famous athlete and I have developed athletes foot — should I see a doctor?
A: Reply: No, see a psychiatrist.
