The City of Dodge City and USD 443 are looking to make safety upgrades to three school zones
through the installation of solar powered flashing 20 mph beacons and the conversion of a
crosswalk signal to a HAWK signal. These improvements call for the installation of 7 solar
powered beacons with an add alternate of one beacon (8 total with add alternate) and one
crosswalk signal conversion to a HAWK.
This work is to be completed in the summer months while school is out. All signal materials are
to be purchased from Gades Sales out of Wichita, KS. Material estimates for the beacons and the
signal conversion are attached, along with approximate beacon locations and concrete signal
base specs (KDOT pedestal bases).

The above unit prices should include all costs associated with installation, including mobilization
and traffic control. These costs will be considered incidental for which no additional payment
will be made. Each submitted quote shall remain valid for at least 45 days from the due date of
this quote.
The City reserves the Right to Refuse any and all Quotes. Per City policy, Performance Bonds are
not required on projects under $50,000.
