 Mr. Bennet (40s-50s) A country gentleman with 5 daughters living at Longbourn,
near Meryton, Hertfordshire.
 Mrs. Bennet (40s-50s) His wife [obsessed with getting her 5 daughters married].
 Jane Bennet (22) Their oldest daughter: Beautiful and reserved.
 Elizabeth Bennet (21) Their second daughter: Vivacious, passionate, intelligent
and pretty.
 Mary Bennet (19) Their third daughter: Educated, introverted, and cautious.
 Kitty (Katherine) Bennet (17) Their fourth daughter: Flirtatious, ebullient, and
immature.
 Lydia Bennet (16) Their fifth daughter: Much like Kitty, but more so.
 Mr. Collins (20s - 30s) A cousin to the Bennet girls. Due to ‘Laws of Entailment,’
Mr. Collins will inherit Mr. Bennet’s estate.
 Mr. Gardiner (30s-40s) Younger brother to Mrs. Bennet. Unlike her, he is an
intelligent, sensible man. He is a successful tradesman living in London.
 Mrs. Gardiner (30s-40s) Mr. Gardiner’s wise and warm wife. When the elder
Bennet girls need insightful, rational advice, they seek it from their aunt.
 Mr. Bingley (20s - 30s) A wealthy young man, has recently let Netherfield Park.
 Miss Caroline Bingley (Early 20s) Mr. Bingley’s unmarried younger sister
 Charlotte Lucas (23) Daughter of Sir William Lucas, the kind and open hearted
friend of the Bennet girls. Later married to Mr. Collins.
 Lady Lucas (40s-50s) Wife of Sir William and mother of Charlotte, a friend to
Mrs. Bennet.
 Sir William Lucas (40s-50s) Recently knighted, formerly a very successful
merchant in Meryton. A friend of Mr. Bennet.
 Mr. Darcy (20s - 30s) Bingley’s good friend, the wealthy master of Pemberley
estate in Derbyshire near Lambton. Develops a reputation in Herfordshire of
being proud and contemptuous of those of lower status.
 Colonel Fitzwilliam (20s - 30s) The younger son of an Earl. His father was the
brother of Anne Darcy [Darcy and Georgiana’s mother] and Lady Catherine de
Bourgh.
 Lady Catherine de Bourgh (40s-50s) Lady Catherine was the sister of Lady Anne
Darcy, and is the widow of Sir Lewis de Bourgh.
 Anne de Bourgh (Early 20s) Lady Catherine and Sir Lewis’s invalid daughter
 Georgiana Darcy (16) Darcy’s teenage sister.











