Join MMI’s outstanding faculty, Sciensational Camps and Box of
Light for a unique summer experience.
Space is truly limited, so be sure to register by June 1, 2015.
If you book both morning and afternoon camps for your child,
just pack your child a brown bag lunch and we’ll watch over your
child between sessions.

June 15-19
Asian Arts Camp
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ages: 9 - 15
Class Size: 10 minimum
Instructor: Mrs. Christina Spencer
Price: $150
Join us in a Chinese Mandarin-immersion and Asian art experience
without leaving the country. This art camp will give kids a unique
opportunity to learn some Mandarin while doing culturally rich activities
such as drawing, brush painting, calligraphy, lantern and kite making.
Each student will receive personalized instruction and care. The camp’s
goal is to help children develop cultural awareness and heighten their
knowledge of global communities through fun, interactive lessons and
activities.
Printmaking Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Ages: 10 - 15
Class Size: 10 minimum
Instructor: Ms. Gabriela Moustardas
Price: $150
Creating original art by carving into or otherwise altering the flat surface
of a material, then inking this image and printing it onto paper. This is
a unique, engaging, and creative art form with a long history. We will
explore various techniques and effects unique to this art, as we create our
own original editions.

Messy Art Camp
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ages: 6 - 10
Class Size: 10 minimum
Instructor: Mrs. Lisa Ferry
Color, fun, painting, fun, sculpting, fun, drawing,
fun, create, fun. Do you think you will have fun at
this camp? If you like art, this camp is for you. Join
Mrs. Ferry on an adventure creating one of a kind art
projects. Please dress appropriately, we may get a
little messy.

Magical Science Camp

Join the fun as we explore what makes science magical! Each day will be
filled with hands on experiments. Mix up your own glow in the dark solution
and turn a lemon into a flashlight. Have you ever seen a pickle glow in the
dark? You will this week. Learn about an incredible machine you have in your
home that shrinks some things and makes others explode! Get ready for these
experiments and much more!
Junior Filmmaker Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Junior Filmmaker Camp challenges children to tell a story utilizing moving
images. In this weeklong camp, students work together to create a short
film. Campers will explore film genres, story development, storyboarding,
screenwriting, acting, directing and editing. The week will culminate in a
movie premiere and awards ceremony worthy of the Oscars! Step STOMP Dance Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Ages: 8 - 15

Scrapbook Studio Camp
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ages: 9 - 13
Class Size: 10 minimum

Want to make memories that last a lifetime in a single week? Then come
join the Scrapbook Studio! We will use your favorite photos, artwork, and
mementos from home and add stickers, fun decorations, and cute accessories
to create a scrapbook chock full of memories. You can create memory pages
for family, birthdays, sporting events, vacations, and holidays. Even if you
have never made a scrapbook before, you will learn some cool ways to
treasure memories and finish the week with a unique keepsake!
Drawing Camp
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ages: 9 - 14
Class Size: 10 minimum

Do you like to sketch? Do you love art and want to develop your drawing skills?
Then this class is for you. While exploring a variety of drawing media both dry
and wet you will gain valuable tips and insights to help you to grow your skills
and confidence in drawing.
Make it and Take it Home Science Camp
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ages: 7 - 12
Class Size: 10 minimum
Instructor: Sciensational
Price: $150
In this hands-on, fun, and exciting program, you will discover how amazing
science is. You will make and take home a wide assortment of toys designed to
teach you science concepts in a hands-on way. Grow and take home a crystal
tree. Make an energy bead bracelet and watch as those amazing beads turn
from white to a rainbow of colors before your eyes. Build a working electric
motor. Make your own sharpie pen T-shirt and learn some cool chemistry
(student supplies a 100% cotton T-shirt). Make your own bubbling blobs and
explore the properties of a density tube. Make silly putty – glowing goo –
green flubber and other cool projects. By the way... we will make ice cream in
our own amazing, different way!
July 6-10
Up, Up and Away Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Class Size: 10 minimum
Ages: 10 - 13
Instructor: Mr. Tim Garvey
Price: $150
Students will design, create and launch their very own aircraft! Throughout the
week we will build and test fly our airplanes, kites, hot air balloons and even
rockets! How does the shape of an object affect the way it flies? How does
weather affect flight? Students will learn the answers to these questions and
more while having fun with some hands-on experiments!
Electronics Lab Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Class Size: 10 minimum
Ages: 7 - 12
Instructor: Sciensational
Price: $150
30 different projects and experiments
are built with your own electronic kit to
keep in this hands-on workshop. The
Science Electronics Lab will stimulate
kids’ minds by using easy to understand
experiments to increase their knowledge
of electronics. Science project ideas will
come alive as they build the 30 projects
while working with Electronic Circuits.
The electronics kit is reusable. Have fun
designing your own projects once you’ve
built all 30. Kids can proceed at their
own pace. Each participant will keep: an
80 page manual, 1 solderless circuit
board, 12 resistors, 2 capacitors, 2 lightemitting diodes, 2 transistors, 1 battery
snap, 1 diode, 1 speaker, 1 timer, 1
photocell, 1 rectifier, 1 potentiometer,
and 1 switch. Learn the ins and outs of
how they work. Beginning Watercolor Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Do you love color and painting? Come and explore the medium of watercolor.
Learn about color and fun techniques that will allow you to enjoy and become
confident in using this fascinating medium.
July 6-10
School of Rock Summer Program
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Class Size: 10 minimum
Ages: 8 - 15
Instructor: Mr. Dan DeMelfi
Price: $150
Do you play keyboard, bass, guitar, horn, woodwind? Are you a vocalist? If you
answered “yes” to any of those questions, this camp is for you! Get together with
friends and jam! Playing in a band situation speeds your learning and creates
“seasoned” musicians. We will begin with early rock and roll, exploring its roots
in blues, and move forward in musical genres as we progress through the week.
Our performance on Friday is sure to be a hit! Campers must provide their own
instruments and must have some degree of proficiency with his or her instrument.
July 13-17
Robotics Camp
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Class Size: 10 minimum
Ages: 9 - 13
Instructor: Mr. Justin Vincent

In this camp, campers will have an introduction to concepts in engineering
design and computer science through the use of robotics. Receive instruction
in robotics, build and program a robot using “Lego Mindstorm NXT” Kits. Learn
the basics of what a robot is, the parts of a robot and how to make a robot
work. The camp will also include several “mini-games” where the campers will
build robots to compete against each other.
Lego Maniacs and Claymation Camp

It’s amazing what a sense of fashion can do. Learn to design, draw and
accessorize the most awesome outfits. Using faces, hair and outfits, learn
to transform from the mundane to the mah-velous as we create a Fashion
Magazine iBook with videos, interviews, photo spreads and tips!
Bookmaking Bootcamp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 pm.
Class Size: 10 minimum
Ages: 10 - 14
Instructor: Mrs. Nancy Lotz

Fold! Stab! Punch! Learn simple, non-violent bookbinding techniques to create
a variety of intriguing books. We will make a hard covered envelope book, a
tiny coin book, a dos a dos (hint: it’s French), and a pop-up origami book. You
will learn the basic stab stitch and Japanese stab stitch to create pamphlets
and chapbooks of all shapes and sizes, including an elegant journal awaiting
all of your brilliant thoughts or your next novel. Minecraft Film Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 pm.

We’ll take you through the process used to create the computer generated
films you see in theaters. You will write a script, define characters, record your
voiceovers, create your digital world using computer software (this is where
Minecraft comes in), record the action (while playing Minecraft), score the film
and add the credits. Wow!
July 13-17
MeTube Camp

Are you passionate about Legos, Minecraft, Dolls, Fashion or Sports? Well,
the world needs your knowledge and YouTube needs your channel! In this
class, students will create their own YouTube channel and upload their own
content. This is your chance to teach others how to create a Minecraft skin or
accessorize their outfits. You will learn how to shoot and edit video, add sound
effects, create your theme music and upload it all to YouTube. Hello world,
here you come!
July 20-24
Model Airplanes, Building Bridges and Electronics Camp
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ages: 7 - 12
Class Size: 10 minimum
Instructor: Sciensational
Price: $150
Build your own rubber-powered model airplane. Use your model as a learning
tool in aerospace education, or just have fun building a sound airplane
that actually flies when assembled. Have fun designing and building model
bridges. Join us in our bridge building contest to see which one can hold
the most weight. Learn simple engineering skills. Build 6 electronic projects.
Some of them include a patrol car siren, burglar alarm and morse code
transmitter. You will learn how the different electronic components work. Bring
a little imagination and get ready to fly!

in July Camp! Our Frozeninspired craft and food
projects provide an
opportunity for campers
to discover their artistic

weather” activities!
July 20-24
Hovercrafts, Bridge Building and Egg Drop Car Camp
Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 pm.
Class Size: 10 minimum
Ages: 7 - 12
Instructor: Sciensational
Price: $150
Do you want to design and build things that you create, like bridges and
cars? Well this is the place for you. Build and keep an air-powered hover
craft. You make it defy gravity. Once it’s up and moving, using your creativity,
control its direction. Get to build and take home your own car. The purpose
is to build a super car powered by more than one source of energy. This can
be one crazy looking vehicle. We provide you with many materials for that
dynamic vehicle that you will build. Also build an egg drop car! The purpose
is to build a gravity vehicle that can cushion a raw egg as the car holding the
egg is dropped from height. We provide you with the material to cushion the
fall. You have to be creative. In these three challenges in one workshop, you
will learn about Laws of Motion, energy, air pressure, friction, lift, speed and
acceleration. Fairy Tales from Around the World Camp
