Greetings! If you are interested in planting your property with larger trees, then the Spring Large Stock Program may be just
what you’re looking for. The Essex Region Conservation Authority offers 5 to 7 foot tall native hardwood trees (deciduous)
and 1.5 to 2.5 foot tall evergreens and potted native shrubs.
ELIGIBILITY
1. Own at least 1 acre of land in a single property within
ERCA’S watershed
2. Order a minimum of 15 trees. Hardwood trees must
be ordered in bundles of 5 for each species ordered.
OUR STANDARDS
We work closely with our private sector nursery partners
to ensure:
•product quality
•trees are transported and stored properly
•trees are in excellent condition at the time of
pick up
ORDERING
Minimum: 15 trees required, any combination of hardwoods
evergreens or shrubs.
DEADLINE: Orders must be received by:
FRIDAY, JANUARY 27, 2017
Order Pick Up: Customers will be notified by mail, when
trees are available for pick up. Typically tree pickup dates coincide with a weekend at the end of April.
Notification packages include invoice information, payment
instructions, pick up dates, times and locations along with maps.
NOTE: Once the trees leave our facility, we are unable to extend a guarantee on tree survival.
NATIVE SHRUBS
Shrubs are excellent for wildlife, cover and food, have multiple stems and tend to grow as wide as they do tall.

NATIVE HARDWOODS
All hardwoods are bare root trees which have been lifted from the ground with no soil around their roots. Our partner nurseries then bundle
each species into groups of 5. The hardwoods listed below are some of the native Carolinian trees of the Essex region. When planted in the
proper site, they will offer many benefits such as shade, cleaner air and habitat for wildlife.

EVERGREENS
There are only two native Evergreens to Essex county, Red Cedar and White Pine. The evergreens listed below will perform well when
planted in the proper site. During times of drought, Evergreen trees will need extra care and watering.
