SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Seniors, make sure you pick up your caps & gowns and
graduation accessories from the Jostens rep on Wednesday morning, March 22.
Seniors will be called down alphabetically. Remember to bring any remaining
balance due in order to pick up your items. ONLY CASH OR MONEY ORDER will be
accepted for payment on delivery day!
SERVE ANNOUNCEMENT: SERVE members participating in the graduation ceremony
this June need to submit all volunteer hours to Mrs. Myhra by Friday, March 31 in
order to be eligible for the SERVE Silver Cord recognition. Please turn-in log sheets
to the envelope outside of room 132 as soon as possible.
KUDOS TO MFHS ART STUDENTS! Three pieces of student artwork from MFHS were
selected for the State Youth Art Month Exhibit in Madison. There are only 50 young
artists selected for this state recognition each year from each of the six regions.
Student work art of SARAH SCARGILL- foreshortening photograph, HANNA MILOS –
pencil drawing of denim and MACKENZIE PAIGE-pop art self portrait acrylic painting,
were chosen from the southeastern regional exhibit entries (6 pieces entered from
MFHS). The State Youth Art Month exhibit is on display at the State Capitol Rotunda
in Madison until Friday, March 31. In addition, Scargill earned a regional award, The
Dorthea Lang Photography Award for her black and white foreshortening photograph.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
TODAY! RELAY FOR LIFE: The Relay for Life is flushing out cancer! Your donation can
save lives! The purple toilets will be on the move through Friday, March 17. The teacher desk chair has
been replaced by a throne! The only way to get the desk chair back is to donate money to get the toilet
removed from the class. If the classroom raises $10, the toilet will be taken away; $20, the toilet will be
taken away and you can move it to any classroom in the school (including administration - Anderson, Vitale,
etc.); $30, the toilet will be taken away and the class will have toilet insurance (gain toilet immunity). All
proceeds will benefit Menomonee Falls Relay for Life.
WORLD CULTURE FAIR: There will be a FREE World Culture Fair on Friday, March 17 in the MFHS Cafeteria
from 6-9 pm (donations will be accepted). Enjoy food vendors, musical & dance performances, sword
demonstrations, crafts & info on world cultures & study abroad/hosting experiences. Join us!
C.N.A. ANNOUNCEMENT: WCTC will be offering Nursing Assistant courses specifically for high school students
interested in being a Youth Apprentice. All current sophomore and juniors are eligible for this class. It is
expected that any student who enrolls in this class intends to participate in the YA program the following
year(s). You must be 16 by the first day of class. There will be a mandatory meeting for all students and
parents that are interested on Thursday, March 23 from 4:30-6 pm in the Richard T. Anderson Center,
WCTC, Pewaukee campus. See the Healthcare Academy page for more info, or see Mrs. KJ in room 125.
CHOIR FUNDRAISER: The high school choir program will be holding their annual Choir Cabaret fundraiser and
talent show on Saturday, March 25 from 6-9 PM at The Three Cellars located in the strip mall by Ally’s
Bistro. Tickets are $10 if you would like to attend. Raffle baskets and silent auction items will be available
as well. In addition, they are holding a cash raffle. 1st prize is $250, 2nd prize $100, 3rd prize $50 and 4th prize
$25. Tickets are $5 each or (3) for $10. You can purchase tickets through Mr. Scheehle. The winning tickets
will be drawn on March 25. Need not be present to win.
YOUTH ART MONTH: The Menomonee Falls Annual Youth Art Month is being recognized at the Menomonee
Falls Public Library. The creative artwork will be on display during this great month-long celebration until
Tuesday, March 28. Stop by and recognize the talent of the children in our community whose work will be
on display.
FILM & NOVEL SOCIETY: The Film and Novel Society is hosting author Liz Czukas on Wednesday, March
29 during 7th and 8th hour. Read the book and earn a pass to attend! If you are interested in purchasing a
personal copy of the book to get it signed, see Mrs. Finley in the LMC by the end of the day.
SPRING CONCERT: Join North Middle School for a fantastic concert on Saturday, April 1 at 7PM in the
auditorium at North Middle School. The Wisconsin Singers are an energetic vocal ensemble accompanied by
an outstanding big band. This group performs songs from a wide range of performers including Beyoncé and
Bruno Mars. This is a high-energy production you don’t want to miss! The Singers even do a rendition of the
Fifth Quarter where your favorite songs like Varsity and Jump Around will be performed. Tickets are $15 for
adults and $10 for seniors or students. Purchase your tickets in the office at North Middle School or through
Mrs. Schickert, band director at North Middle School.
BE AN ELECTRICIAN! Electrical Construction Industry Night Job Fair will be held on Thursday, April 13 from
4-7 pm at 11001 W. Plank Court in Wauwatosa. If you have questions, please contact Todd Pauly at
(414)327-5202 or [email protected]. If you are interested in learning more about trades/apprenticeships in
the areas of electricity and data installation this is a great opportunity!
AP EXAM INFO: On Thursday, April 20, (Note: New date!) during 3rd & 4th hours (Auditorium) will be the AP
Pre-Registration Meeting. At this meeting students will complete all required AP Registration. By
completing this process prior to testing, students will not need to address this on test day. Finally from May
1-12, AP Exams will take place at MFHS, as Thomas Jefferson Middle School is no longer available.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENT DRIVERS: A S2 Parking Pass is required to be on ALL vehicles parked in Student
lots. Tickets will be issued on all vehicles without a S2 pass as well as any vehicle parked in the Staff Lots,
Visitor Spaces or not in a parking spot (end caps). It is also required that your pass is displayed properly.
You can either hang it from your rear view mirror, or tape it on the dash board by the steering wheel. The
tag number MUST be visible when walking by your vehicle.
CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS
IMPORTANT SENIOR DATES: Tuesday, March 22 is the Jostens Graduation Order Pick Up (Cap/Gown). Orders
will be distributed to seniors 9-10:15 am. Students will be called down alphabetically to pick up their
orders. Tuesday, March 28 is the Scholarship Application Deadline! Drop off completed applications in
Auditorium. For any graduation or scholarship questions, please contact Student Services.
ACTIVITIES & CLUBS
FILM & NOVEL SOCIETY: The Film and Novel Society will have a quick meeting after school on Monday,
March 27 in the LMC regarding the author visit on Wednesday, March 29. If you are attending the event it is
important that you attend.
ATHLETICS:
BOYS’ TENNIS: Attention ALL Boys tennis players! A mandatory tennis meeting will take place after school
on Monday, March 20 at 3:15 pm in Coach Keller’s room 204. If you intend to play tennis this spring please
make sure to be there. The meeting should take approximately 20 minutes.
