Lesson Focus: Introduction to Animation
 Google search the term – Animation. View examples & explanations.
 Google search ‘Free animated clipart’. Allow students to browse and select
one animated clipart image to save.
 Revise code of conduct regarding selection of animations.
 Review logging onto the wikipage – review some of the new features.
 Lead students step by step through the process of uploading their saved
animated gif onto the wikipage.
 On the wikipage, lead students through the process of changing their
animated gif into a link to a new page. Students create a link to their own
animation page to upload all work from this term.
Lesson Focus: Creating an animation using OdoSketch
 Have students log onto computer, then internet, then wikipage. Allow 5 mins
of browsing time. Review use of tabs in browser.
 Demonstrate the website Odosketch to students, explaining that it created
an animation out of your drawing.
 Students create and embed an animated title for their animation wikipage.
 Students may then create an animation of their choice using the Odosketch
program.
Lesson Focus: Creating an Animation - Cartoonster and ABCya website
 Have students log onto computer, then internet, then wikipage.
 Show the first 2 tutorials from Cartoonster to explain the use of frames when
animating objects.
 Demonstrate the ABCya Animation creator program. Give a simple
demonstration of how it can be used to create an animation.
 Lead students through the process of creating an animation, explaining the
use of copy and paste frames and view previous frame.
 Students experiment with program creating a simple bouncing ball
animation.
 Students save their completed animation into their My Documents folder.

Lesson Focus: Creating own Animation using ABCya animation website
 Students log onto computer, then internet, then wikipage.
 Revise how to upload a file to the wikipage.
 Allow students 5 minutes to upload their animation from the previous week.
 Revise the basics of the ABCya animation program.
 Allow students to create an animation, which involves an Australian animal,
individually or in pairs.
 Students save and upload completed animations to the wikipage.
 Demonstrate how one file can be uploaded and then placed on multiple
wikipages.
Assessment
 Students log onto computer, then internet, then wikipage.
 Students use the links to ABCya animation site.
 Students complete an independent animation of their choice using the
ABCya site and while referring to the assessment rubric.
 Students save animation and upload/embed onto wikipage for marking.
Lesson Focus: Animating using Fluxtime Animation
 Introduce Fluxtime using the URLTV episode.
 Give brief demonstration of the tools not discussed in the episode.
 Students log on to computer > internet > wikipage. Use link to Fluxtime from
the animation page.
 Allow students to experiment with the website individually or in pairs.
 Students complete animation. Using jing save animation as a flash file which
can then be uploaded onto the wikipage.
Lesson Focus: Animating using PhotoShop
 Display the ‘How To’ video to students on creating a simple animation using
PhotoShop. Show where this video is embedded on the wikipage to refer to
from home.
 Students log on to computer and open PhotoShop. Revise the necessary
tools required for the task.
 Lead students through step by step on making a simple animation using
PhotoShop.
 Demonstrate how to save and upload file onto wikipage.
