In assembly we talked about how you can sometimes liven up your
writing by repeating sounds. We looked at three different examples:
Assonance – Repetition of vowel sounds
Consonance – Repetition of consonant sounds
Alliteration – Repetition of a sound at the START of the word

In assembly we decided that…
…Bubbilicious Bubblegum is an example of all 3, starting with the “B” sound, followed by a
repetition of the “u” vowel sound and then more “bb” sounds in the middle!!
…Triple Choco-Nut-Fudge Swirl is an example of assonance with the “u” sound repeated in
Nut and Fudge
…Caramel & Custard is an example of alliteration, repeating the “C” sound at the start of
the words
…Cola Cube & Jelly and Peanut Butter & Banana Foam are also examples of alliteration
…Whizz Fizz Spacedust Explosion is an example of assonance with the “i” sound
repeated…and also consonance with the “zz” sound repeated at the end of the first two
words
