Balkans powder keg
The "color revolution" maestro team of Assistant Secretary of
State for European/Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and
global hedge fund tycoon George Soros have given the final
green light to their operatives in Macedonia to stage an
uprising against the government of Prime Minister Nikola
Gruevski. This move follows an attempt to embarrass
Gruevski's government by the release of the transcripts of
intercepted phone calls of 20,000 Macedonian citizens,
including political leaders and journalists by the U.S.- and
Soros-supported Macedonian opposition. The collection of the
calls was well-beyond the tehnical capabilities of the
Macedonian intelligence service and there are suspicions that
the U.S. and/or German intelligence services were behind the
surveillance and the leak of the phone calls to the
Macedonian opposition and media. Gruevski and his
government have called the leak of the surveillance
information a part of a blackmail operation directed against
the government. Gruevski ordered the detention of five
opposition figures connected to the blackmail case.
By staging a color revolution in Macedonia, Nuland and Soros
stand to re-ignite the ethnic conflicts fostered by the Clinton
administration's foolhardy and bloody military engagements
of the 1990s against Serbia and ethnic Serbs living in Bosnia,
Croatia, and Kosovo.
The two main Nuland operatives in Macedonia are Zoran
Zaev, the leader of the opposition Social Democratic Union of
Macedonia (SDSM) and his predecessor as SDSM leader,
former prime minister and president Branko Crvenkovski.
Both leaders are now urging their supporters to hit the
streets of Skopje and other cities, including Strumica, where
Zaev also serves as mayor, to commence a Ukrainian Maidan
Square-styled coup d'etat with Macedonia Square as the
central focal point of the uprising.
In typical Soros-style color revolution procedures, the
Macedonian opposition has highlighted a "martyr" to their
cause. In 2011, when the VMRO DPMNE party celebrated
their electoral victory in Skopje, a policemen allegedly beat
to death a 22-year old VMRO DPMNE election victory
celebrant named Martin Nesvkovski. There is now some
doubt as to whether the special policeman convicted of the
murder was even on duty that particular evening. However,
"Nevkovski" has become a rallying cry for the Soros-financed
opposition even though he was supposedly cheering on the
victory of the very same government that the Soros
operatives are now trying to overthrow.
The opposition to Gruevski's government has been joined by
two of the major Soros-funded media operations in
Macedonia, the television networks "Telma" and "24 Vesti."
They helped stoke recent violent protests directed at the
government on Macedonia Square in central Skopje,
demonstrations that saw 36 of the 40 total injured in the
melees in front of the government headquarters in Skopje
identified as police officers. One SDSM leader, Radmila
Shekerinska, was witnessed at a café near the protest venue
issuing instructions to protesters to forcibly enter the
government buildings.
The Soros-operated Radio Free Europe ran with the following
incendiary report from Skopje:
"Violent clashes broke out May 5 at a midnight demonstration
in the Macedonian capital, Skopje, where at least 1,000
people gathered to protest the 2011 murder of a man beaten
by police during postelection celebrations. At least 19 people
were injured, including 15 police officers and a photographer.
Police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse the
protesters, who chanted 'Murderers! Murderers!' and
demanded the government's resignation. Protesters threw
objects and broke windows of the government building,
crashed cars parked nearby, and torched several containers.
Social Democrat Zoran Zaev, Macedonia's opposition leader,
accused Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of attempting to
cover up the death of Martin Neskoski [sic], who died
celebrating Gruevski's election win. Zaev released audio
recordings in which he said the prime minister and other
officials discuss how to cover up the killing.”
It is noteworthy how Radio Free Europe understated the
number of police officers injured and failed to report on the
external agitation behind the riots. Also, why would Gruevski
and his senior security officials want to cover up the death of
one of the ruling party's own supporters?

The real reason behind the attempt to stage a color
revolution in Macedonia is that the ethnically-diverse country,
where a third of the population is ethnic Albanian, is seen as
the weakest link in the planned Turkish Stream pipeline that
will transport natural gas from Russia through Turkey,
Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, and Hungary into central Europe.
Serbian prime minister Aleksandar Vucic has been called to
Washington where Vice President Joe Biden, Kerry, Nuland,
and company are poised to bring about additional pressure
on Serbia to abandon its nascent alliance with the other
Turkish Stream partners or face rejection of full Serbian
membership in the European Union and NATO. In return for
Vucic abandoning the Turkish Stream deal with Russia, the
United States is offering to build a new gas terminal on Krk
island in Croatia that would deliver by ship natural gas from
Qatar, Algeria, and the United States. However, Croatia and
Serbia are old foes and Serbia would be dependent on
Croatia for its gas supplies instead of the more friendly
nations and its traditional allies of Macedonia, Greece, and
Russia.
Biden, Kerry, and Nuland are hoping to see Serbia and
Macedonia, as well as Greece and Hungary, abandon the
Turkish Stream in the same manner that Bulgaria's
announcement that it would not permit the South Stream
pipeline to cross its borders to transport Russian natural gas
from a pipeline under the Black Sea sealed the fate of that
project. It should also be noted that R. Hunter Biden, Biden's
son, is heavily involved in the natural gas industry in Europe
through his employment by Burisma Holdings, Ltd., a natural
gas firm owned by Ukrainian-Jewish oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky.
NATO has also recently temporarily moved its Allied Joint
Force Command headquarters from Naples to Cincu in central
Romania as a warning to not only Russia over Ukraine but
Serbia and Macedonia over the Turkish Stream pipeline deal.
The NATO command in Cincu also controls the NATO Kosovo
Force (KFOR) that is headquartered at Camp Bondsteel in
Kosovo. The Kosovo-Macedonia border has recently
witnessed border provocations by Kosovo Liberation Army
(KLA) personnel that could not have been carried out without
the knowledge and acquiescence of NATO and the American
military at Bondsteel.
But Russia and China are staging joint naval exercises in the
Mediterranean in mid-May to warn Washington and its allies
that any attempt to interfere with both Turkish Stream and
the Balkans route of China's Silk Road project can face the
combined military might of the two Eurasian political,
economic, and military giants. Although the joint naval drills
are the fourth between the two regional superpowers, it is
the first time they have been conducted in the
Mediterranean, a sea that NATO considers to be its own
"private lake."
Nuland and company have already instructed the SDSM and
other opposition leaders that their first order upon seizing
power from the democratically-elected government will be to
drop the name of their country, Macedonia, in order to
placate Greece, which has always objected to the name
based on irredentist fears about the Macedonian population
of its northern region of Thessaloniki (Salonica) wanting to
unite with their kinfolk to the north. Nuland has apparently
been conspiring with Jews in Israel and the United States,
whose families emigrated from Thessaloniki (Salonica), to
help stir up tensions on both sides of the Greek and
Macedonian borders over the country name issue.
Nuland and her co-conspirators now stand ready to toss a
lighted match on Macedonia and the entire Balkans region.
They could not do any more damage if they personally set
fire to the Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline.
