CHRIST OUR HOPE ORPHANAGE CENTRE UGANDA NARRATIVE AND FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE PROJECT FUNDED YEAR 2012 NAME OF THE PROJECT: Community Health Promotion in Munyuka area through Provision of Safe Clean Water and Classroom construction at Christ Our Hope Orphanage Centre. Amount funded by Guernsey Overseas Aid Commission (GOAC) GBP 39,510 Christ Our Hope Orphanage Centre is a rural community initiated educational institution that offers formal, vocational education to vulnerable children and orphans on addition to general social services to rural poor disadvantaged communities in Wakiso District. On 14th February 2012 Christ Our Hope Orphanage Centre (COHOC) received a grant of GBP 39,510 from Guernsey Overseas Aid Commission equivalent to UGX 136,309,500/= I am happy to report to you that the project has been completed and to let you know how the fund was utilized and the total expenditure was UGX 136,156,600/= THE AIMS OF THE PROJECT WERE:i) To provide and create good conducive learning environment at Christ Our Hope Orphanage Centre through provision of a three classroom block for better sitting arrangements to reduce the congestion and over crowded of pupils in class while having their lessons and this was to target and to benefit 719 School children. ii) To construct and protect community’s spring wells, shallow wells and water harvesting jars for the guardians AIDS/HIV infected/affected families on addition to the elderly people of the area this activity was to target 5,848 people. WHAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED A three classroom block has been constructed and lessons can be conducted from there.
