1. Hope you all enjoyed watching the movie “Jumanji” screened exclusively for your class in the school, before
vacations.
You must have observed the board game in the movie “Jumanji”.
Let‟s use it constructively in understanding the chapter “Integers”
learnt in the class.
Aim: To kindle the mathematical aptitude of the students by
involving them to use their acquired concepts in constructive
way.
Instructions:
 Make a board game based on integers, take integers from -49 to + 49.
 Make two dice using clay. One dice should represent negative integers from -1 to -6 and the other should
represent positive integers from +1 to +6.
 During your free time try to play with your friends instead of watching T.V.
 After vacation you are required to bring the game to the school, to show
it to your teacher and play with your friends as a group activity.
This will revise your concepts of multiplication and division of integers.
 You can also use this concept while playing with „Snakes and
Ladder‟.
Let’s see how logical you are!!
Try to make 5 number statements during your game.
2. PROJECT WORK

During your vacations you will definitely go for shopping to
different Malls or Outlets with your parents / relatives. You may
find different articles are available at different prices at different
places / outlets. That is, at some outlets the same product will be
available at a fixed price while at some others you may get a
chance to enjoy shopping on a seasonal discount.
What you need to do:
You are required to identify at least five different articles that you
want to purchase. Collect the price at which they are available at
different outlets.
a. Now, compare the rates of these articles under various schemes with their rates without any scheme.
b. Calculate the profit percent of these articles.
c. Also, construct a double bar graph for better understanding of the same.
For E.g At an Electronic Showroom, an LED TV is priced at Rs. 45900. But in Big Bazaar there is a
Seasonal discount. The same TV is being priced with an offer of 5% off due to sale. So, after
discount, it would cost Rs.43605 ( Rs.45900− Rs.2295 = Rs.43605) at Big Bazaar.

This is one of those unexplained mysteries in science. At
Mahabalipuram the 20 feet high and 5 meter wide rock estimated to
weigh over 250 tons seems to pull off a balancing act like no other.
Known locally as Krishna‟s Butter Ball is not a rock that stands on an
extremely small and slippery area of a hill. It‟s hard not to wonder
how such a big structure is stationary at a place where it‟s impossible
to be so. And it‟s been there for over 1200 years. Yes you heard that
right 1200 years seemingly defying the laws of physics.
Its original Tamil name is "VaaniraiKal" which literally translates to "Stone of The Sky God".
Take the help of various reference books available in the Library and the internet and find out about 10 such
amazing balancing rocks in the world similar to this rock.
