Thank you to everyone, staff, children and parents for a lovely end to 2016. The children have
been a pleasure to get to know and I look forward to seeing them all in 2017.
Friday 16th December
Please can the children come to Pre-school on Friday in Christmas jumpers or party clothes. They will be able
to wear these both for the party and the performance in the afternoon.
Don’t forget to bring some money to our performance – as well as the raffle (tickets £1 a strip) there will be a
Lucky Dip for children (20p) and Guess the Name of the Teddy (50p). All money raised will be used to improve
the ICT resources for the children to use.
Dates
Please remember that we close for the Christmas holidays on Friday 16 th December. We will reopen again on
Tuesday 3rd January.
There are some Inset days coming up in the Spring. The dates of these are: Thursday 6 th and Friday 7th April.
Letter of the Week
We would like to start 2017 by introducing the children to letters and their sounds. To do this we have decided
to start a sound box. This will have objects relating to a letter each week, working through the alphabet,
beginning with ‘A a’, on the week commencing 3rd January. We feel that it would be good if you could
encourage your child to bring an object from home that they can place in the box and then we can use these
items to link to their learning of each letter and sound. The display board in the hall will be used to show the
letter focus for each week so if you need a reminder please have a look!
