FACELESS PRODUCTIONS BY ARRANGEMENT WITH GLORIOUS MANAGEMENT PROUDLY PRESENT ANDREA HUBERT: WEEK EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE 2016 GILDED BALLOON AT THE COUNTING HOUSE, 3:45PM, 3RD – 29TH AUGUST (EXCEPT 15TH & 16TH) www.gloriousmanagement.com/artist/andrea-hubert / @shutupandrea This August, hotly-tipped, BAFTA prize award-winning writer and comedian, Andrea Hubert makes her solo debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Join Andrea for her surprisingly uplifting debut hour of medication, night sweats, stoned teenage philosophy and explaining why putting on your socks is life's most challenging and meaningless endeavour. On Monday, Andrea was in a supermarket, clutching a mini-carafe of “Don’t judge me!” wine. By Friday she was musing, “Should I get on the train, or jump in front of it?” But pills are for crazy people, right? And struggling to put on socks because of life’s tragic meaninglessness is normal... right? It might take a lifetime to get to this point. But it only takes a week to put it right. Right? Having first performed stand-up in 2009, Andrea Hubert gained second place in a national competition within 20 gigs. She went on to be named the winner of the Boom-Tish New Act Competition and runner-up at Laughing Horse, Bath Comedy Festival and Piccadilly Comedy Club New Act competitions. She has previously performed at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of The Comedy Doodle (2010), Big Value Comedy Showcase (2012) and Tiny Horse Comedy (2015). In 2013, Andrea and her writing partner won the prestigious BAFTA / Rocliffe New Writing Forum Competition, beating over 500 other entrants. The pair sold their first commissioned sitcom script to the BBC in 2015, are currently working on a new sitcom as part of a development deal with Objective Productions (makers of Peep Show and Fresh Meat.) Andrea has written for BBC’s Walk on the Wild Side, Channel 4’s Mad on Chelsea and is also producing a book of short plays. A former journalist, she contributes features to the Guardian and Standard Issue Magazine. Andrea has appeared in a spoof music video of Taylor Swift's Bad Blood, parodying the notion of tax on female toiletries as well as 2 episodes of The Debrief’s Thinking Out Loud. She is currently filming her first short film, titled The Henchman.
