1975. Practised in District Court of Burdwan district in Civil and
Criminal matters till end of the year 1979 and thereafter in High Court
at Calcutta in Civil, Criminal and constitutional matters till July, 2000.

As Judge of High Court, Calcutta adjudicated many matters on
constitutional points, its interpretation and on ultra vires issue of
statutory provisions, rules, orders, notifications etc. in respect of
different laws of different fields and branches sitting in the writ Court
singly and in the Division Bench as Presiding Judge. Adjudicated
many matters on service laws, civil laws and criminal laws on
interpreting statutes under scanner of Constitution, statutory
interpretation rule, jurisprudence, administrative law and procedural
laws. Dealt with many writ matters on statutory interpretation of
corporate laws, Companies Laws, Banking Laws & Regulations, SICA
etc. to identify the legality and validity in the angle of Constitution of
India and other legal disputes in those field of law.

matters as Judge of High Court
Calcutta
During practicing period since the year 1980 till elevation as Judge,
High Court, Calcutta in the year 2000 practised in the writ jurisdiction
dealing with all service matters arising out of service dispute against
different authorities under Article 12 of the Constitution of India
including Central and State Government, against the decision of Court
Martial including service dispute of military personnel and service
matters of educational Institutions, Panchayet, Co-operative Society,
Municipality etc. After elevation as Judge experienced for the last 12
years dealing with all types of service matters as referred to above
sitting singly and as a Presiding Judge of the Division Bench and
adjudicated many service matters arising out of orders passed by State
Administrative Tribunal and Central Administrative Tribunal and
Mandamus appeals arising out of decision of Single Bench of High
Court, Calcutta relating to service matter in the field of Education, Cooperative, Municipality, Panchayet etc. and service disputes of
authorities under Article 12 of the Constitution of India and service
matter and other matters relating to Industrial Disputes Act and labour
laws.

Ex-Visiting Professor of Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property
Law, IIT, Kharagpur, West Bengal. Subject of teaching: Constitution
of India, Administrative law, Interpretation of statutes and
Jurisprudence.
Delivered lectures to the Judicial officers in the Cadre of higher
judicial service and also in the Cadre of sub-ordinate judiciary at
judicial academy, West Bengal on the subjects relating to Constitution
of India, Interpretation of Statute, Service Law, General Clauses Act
and Specific Relief Act.

Stood 3rd in All India Inter University Elocution Contest on “Man
Making Ideas of Swami Vivekananda” organised by R.K. Mission
Institute of Culture, Golpark,Calcutta in the year 1972. Stood 1st in
Inter University Debate competition on socio political topic held by
University of Burdwan. Secured certificate of merit in the All India
Inter-University Elocution contest on “Vision of Swami Vivekananda”
organised by R. K. Mission Institute of Culture, Calcutta in the year
1974. Got award as best speaker and debater, by the University of
Burdwan, for consecutive years 1972 to 1974. Participated as
representative of Burdwan University in All India Inter University
National Debate Competition for consecutive years 1971 to 1974, held
at Kanke (Ranchi) Agricultural University, Madras University, PUSA
Agricultural University, at New Delhi and Calcutta University in
respective years on different topics of Socio-economic and socio
political field and also participated in different seminars of national
level on different topics on national integration, socio-economic policy
of governance and on socio-political philosophy in social context of
India, during that period, organised by different Universities of India.
Awarded several prizes in Recitation competitions from School to
