Monitor and adjust comprehension and make inferences about text and use information from the text to support understanding

Establish purpose for reading selected texts and monitor comprehension, making corrections and adjustments when understanding
breaks down. *Draw conclusions from facts presented in text and support those assertions with textual evidence.

Identify and use suffixes (-less, -ful, -ly) in reading writing and speaking situations

Use and understand the function of contractions with NOT reading, writing and speaking situations
Write legibly a fictional narrative (check for correct spelling)
 Listening to your child read and periodically stopping to ask questions (who, what, when, where, why, how)
 Try holding D-E-A-R times at your house. "DEAR" stands for "Drop Everything and Read." During DEAR time, everyone in the
family sits down for some uninterrupted reading time.
