Important information about registering with a doctor
There are no walk-in centres in Bolton. Any student who is not registered with a GP
would potentially have to travel to Bury to be seen by a doctor.
Whilst most GPs will register someone who visits them with the correct ID
documentation, the patient will then have a delay in being able to get an
appointment.
If a student is registered with a GP in Bolton and needs out of hours treatment they
should call their GP and follow the instructions on the voicemail, this will probably
mean the student then needs to ring 111 – staff at the NHS 111 Centre will then
check if any appointments are available at the Out of Hours Centre which is Waters
Meeting House (Bolton).
